In technicality, the sex change potion would alter Eric to be default-female. But sex change potions are established to not affect the memories of those who witness it's use and who are not employed by the store. So, Eric, Erin, and the Protagonist would all remember that Eric is originally male, so their dialogue would still reflect that knowledge.

As this relates to Reese, in response to both you and to Furukawa's statements, Reese was impacted by a diluted version of the sex change potion's effects, *or* got the full effects in a distorted fassion as a result of Cassandra being the one to throw the potion given her problem with potions, and ended up getting the sex change without the retroactive aspect. He cannot use a second sex change potion to fix it because doing so would change his personal history into growing up as a girl, then becoming male when Cassandra threw the potion into the lake.

The bit about only changing costmetic details was in reference to the boost spell though, not the retroactive sex change potion.
