someone one should edit this page to let people know that you cannot cast flirt during Jane's first private lesson. I have tried, I haven't done anything that would prevent this so far as I know, the first time you are able to cast a spell yourself in one of the private lessons is the fourth. I have tried casting flirt at this point only to get a "failed" pop up, tried this like ten times to no avail. I'm not playing on the blog, I'm using google chrome, windows seven ( a bit old but reliable) and I'm playing the most current version (0.54). If it's just me that's cool, I'll figure it out. If it's not me than please fix this, I love this game and this is driving me nuts since I've done so many playthroughs without this happening.
