Dude, who wrote these strategies? How is casting erase recommended at all? Yeah, if you want Val to be useless for the rest of the time you're in the dungeon... Confuse is by far the most effective way to deal with monsters, specially tanky ones; all you gotta do is cast it a few times and they die in no time.
