i'll go back and test now. the only reason i am bothering is because i like to see new things. if you get the bonus affection on the streets, it does end the conversation early (before the second option appears), so that is likely the case. 

speedrunning the dungeon isnt that insane, especially in a ng+. i almost always do, as other than the monster quests and bosses, combat is never required. i actually often reach the endings before protag lvl 10. just my oppinion and has no relevance, though.
