I know I said I wouldn't reply, but if that is what is upsetting him, then I can clarify that, and maybe it would help him feel better? I offered, as an example that if he did 8 hours of testing, and we went with 10 dollars an hour, then it would add up to 80 dollars. But that was an example of how the math would work, not an actual offer for what I want to give him for a full month.
I even suggested to him that he should time how long he actually bug tests for so that we could get an idea of the actual length of time he should be paid for. like, if it turned out he tested for 20 hours it would have been 200 dollars by the example. if he wanted a higher hourly rate he could have told me that as well. I dont mind paying him a fair amount, i just need to both know what he feels is fair and to physically have the money in my bank to pay him with.
