Valerie - or Val for short - is the Protagonist's childhood friend and the first member to join your party during a NG.

She starts with a high Affection, at 1 heart, for the Protagonist, regardless of gender, implying she's bisexual.

She uses elemental magic and currently has eleven spells. None of them are hidden.

Val is initially the only way for the player to deal damage as the Protagonist lacks damaging spells. Upon obtaining her magic, she describes it as "being able to use some elemental magic".

She seems to be quite selfish in regards towards the Protagonist, to the point she'll get jealous - or flat out mad - if the Protagonist remarks that s/he wishes to make some new friends.

Despite this, she'll give up her own magic in order to help the Protagonist gain magic, though it's unknown if it's because she wishes for the Protagonist to have magic or simply because she's too scared what might happen if she retains her magic herself.

In a NG+, she tells Molly to wait for them in town. Once she gives magic to the Protagonist, Molly will ask what happened. Val then instantly defends herself by saying "it's something only a close friend could solve".

Molly gets somewhat hurt by this remark but says nothing more about it.

Saving Val's Mind

During the Heroic Plotline, the Protagonist has to enter Val's Mind to save her from Drape.

Slave outfits

Normal

She has red hair, pink jacket and a green unitard. She speaks nervously as she's worried about what you will do to her.

Mindless

Same as her normal, just with blank eyes. She only says a few words, acting similar to a robot.

Bimbo

Her hair goes blonde and she gets larger breasts. She's very eager to please.

Goth

Her hair and clothes both go black and her jacket turns red. She has a darker outlook on life.
If you obtain the Goth personality from using Grapple on her in her Mind, she will have an interest in bondage.

Personality Dialogue Changes

The dialogue that happens when you change between two personalities. E.g Normal > Mindless is when you change her from her Normal personality to her Mindless personality.

Normal > Mindless:

Val: Hey come on, you don't really mean that, do you? Please say you are just joking.

Protagonist: Does the feeling creeping over you feel like a joke?

Val: N-No.. It.. Mmm.. It does't. But..

Protagonist: It feels good, doesn't it? You love how it feels to have my power flowing through you.

Val: It.. It does. It.. Ah! Feels so good... but..

Protagonist: You can't resist my power. Can you.

Val: Ah!! No! It's.. Too strong.. Can't resist.. But you..

Protagonist: That's enough "buts". Slaves don't argue.

Val: Yes.. but I.. I'm..

Protagonist: You are a slave.

Val: Yes! AAHH!! ...

Val (Mindless): I am your slave.

Mindless > Normal:

Val: Yes, SIr. I understand.

Protagonist: Think back to the way you were before. Let your old self come back into existance. My power will be just as strong in her though, as it is in you.

Val: I feel it... I can see... Myself... I feel her.. I... I am her.

Val (Normal): Oh... Oh my! That was so strange. Thanks... For turning me back I guess..

Protagonist: Is something wrong?

Val: Well... I don't seem to be ALL the way back to normal.

Protagonist: Oh, you mean the compulsion to obey?

Val: Yeah.. Aren't you going to fix that too?

Protagonist: Nah. I might feel like playing with you again later.

Val: Well that sounds.. ominous.

Protagonist: Well, you can at least be happy I made you mostly normal.

Val: Yeah.. I guess so. Not like I can do much about it anyway right?

Normal > Bimbo:

Val: Hey now, come on. Don't I get a say in this?

Protagonist: Sure, what do you have to say about it?

Val: Well for one.. I don't want to be a bimbo. They are.. Um.. all ditzy, and dumb and annoying.. and um.. well..

Protagonist: And what?

Val: Well, like.. They're all sex obsessed and dumb, and think bad.. and.. and.. Um.. my train of thought's like, all slippery now and stuff. You're doing it already, aren't you!

Protagonist: What makes you say that?

Val (Bimbo): Duh, because I'm all.. like.. getting dumb and my hairs like all yellow now and... you are.. kinda hot.. Wanna play around maybe?

Protagonist: I'm only really into bimbos, and you just said you don't like bimbos.

Val: Yeeaah... But that was before. It's like, totally hot now!

Protagonist: Alright, we will play later then if you can prove you can stay a bimbo until then.

Val: That'll be like no problem for me. I don't like all that thinky stuff anyways.

Bimbo > Normal:

Val: Aw... But I was gettin' used to being all dumb and sexy!

Protagonist: You were a good bimbo. Now you get to be your old self again.

Val: I'm like.. The BEST bimbo. You don't have to.. make my mind start.. um.. wait..

Val (normal): I... really should not be arguing. You might actually decide to keep me like that! That was... Embarassing. I hope I didn't make a fool out of myself while I was like that.

Protagonist: I wouldn't worry about that.

Val: Oh.. Heh... I guess not. Thanks for giving me my mind back at least. I guess the power hasn't gone completely to your head.

Protagonist: I guess not... Or maybe I just changed you back to play with you in other ways.

Val: Um... I'm.. not sure what to say to that.

Protagonist: Don't worry about it. I'll take good care of you.

Val: You're right. No sense worrying about it now, thanks.

Normal > Goth:

Val: But.. I like being cheerful. You don't have to change anything do you?

Protagonist: Oh, I think it would be fun seeing you acting so different.

Val: I really don't get a say in this, do I?

Protagonist: Not really. That's what makes it fun.

Val: Not for me! For me this just sucks!

Protagonist: It's not that bad.

Val: Not that bad? First I have to be my best friend's SLAVE but I still try to make the best of it; and now I can't even have my own personality anymore?

Val (Goth): This just all fucking sucks. You know what? I don't even care anymore. I was stupid to be so cheery anyway. Go ahead. Change me and be done with it already.

Protagonist: I already did.

Val: Really..? Wow, I didn't even notice! That was.. more subtle than I expected it to be.

Protagonist: I just wanted you darker; not depressed.

Val: That's a nice distinction. Wouldn't want to go from annoyingly bright annoyingly dark. Love these new colors though.

Goth > Normal:

Val: You want me to go back to being an annoyingly cheerful idiot?

Protagonist: I've had enough fun with you for now.

Val: It's always about you, isn't it? Maybe I don't like being her anymore. Did you think of that?

Protagonist: Oh, you'll get used to it again.

Val: Yeah, yeah, fuck you too. Geez I can feel her already. Guess I'll have to get used to eye bleeding colors again.

Protagonist: You love pink and green.

Val: They're ok colors. Kind of upbeat.

Val (normal): Ooh! I'm wearing them again! I'm back to myself! Well.. Mostly back to myself. Aren't you forgetting something?

Protagonist: I don't believe so?

Val: I seem to still be.. Um.. Obedient.

Protagonist: Oh, that. Yeah, I like it better that way. Don't worry.

Val: I won't worry. Um.. I mean.. Yeah I guess I'm okay with that. Thanks for making me mostly normal at least.

Mindless > Bimbo:

Val: Yes, Sir/Ma'am. I understand.

Protagonist: You can feel your mind changing already. You are dumb, horny, and eager to play.

Val: Yes, Sir/Ma'am. I can think.. but can't.. can't think well.. Kinda.. Like.. Dumb. You like me dumb, don't cha?

Val (Bimbo): Ooh! Blonde hair too? You're like, the best! Hey, after like, I finish getting dumb, you want to play with me?

Protagonist: If you are a good bimbo, I will.

Val: Don't worry! I'll be like, the best, dumbest bimbo you've ever seen!

Bimbo > Mindless:

Val: So like.. first you didn't want me to have brains, now you don't want me thinkin' at all, is that it?

Protagonist: You don't have a problem with that, do you?

Val: Well... I think it'd be like, fun to stop thinking. Thinking isn't fun anyway. But I'll stop being bubbly too! That's.. not as much fun.

Protagonist: Your job isn't to have fun. It's to obey.

Val: Well yeah. I just thought I would have more fun while I did it. But.. I see your point. It does not matter how I serve.

Val (Mindless): What matters i that I do serve. Your slave is ready to serve you now, Master/Mistress.

Mindless > Goth:

Val: Yes, Sir/Ma'am. I understand.

Protagonist: You can feel the darker thoughts filling your mind already.

Val: Thinking on my own... feels weird. I don't think I like it.

Protagonist: You don't have a choice though, do you?

Val: No.. You took my choice. You took my will. You took everything...

Val (Goth): Now I don't even get my mindless bliss? This is bullshit. If I could, I'd slap you so hard right now.

Protagonist: You can't though, can you.

Val: No! I can't! I can't do anything but obey. But fine. Whatever. Yo ugot what you wanted, didn't you.

Protagonist: You know you like it better this way.

Val: What are you..? Oh! You.. already did it. Well, at least now I have more personality than a mindless doll... You're just lucky I happen to like black and purple.

Goth > Mindless:

Val: Oh. So you just want me to be a mindless doll for you. Is that it?

Protagonist: You don't have a problem with that, do you?

Val: I guess complaining about it won't change anything anyway.

Protagonist: Accepting it already?

Val: You have me in the palm of your hands either way. Might as well accept it. Sorry, I suppose that is a bit curt. I really should be more respectful.

Val (Mindless): I am sorry, Master/Mistress. I will do better in the future. Will you forgive your slave's previous poor attitude?

Bimbo > Goth:

Val: But don't you love my bubbly personality?

Protagonist: I think I'd rather see the darker side of you.

Val: Really? Haha, I don't think I'd be lot's of fun like that!

Protagonist: Oh, you'll be fun. In other ways...

Val: Another.. Kind.. of fun? What kind of fun are you talking about? I don't really see it.

Protagonist: Well, it's fun for me at least.

Val (Goth): Yeah. Of course it is. I guess I don't get to have any then.

Protagonist: I'm sure you'll like it.

Val: Sure. Whatever. That bimbo personality was annoying me anyway.

Goth > Bimbo:

Val: How is being a ditzy-ass bimbo any better than that annoyingly cheerful personality I used to have?

Protagonist: It's better because that is what I feel like.

Val: I should have known better than to think I'd get to stay like this for like.. very long.

Protagonist: You liked being a Goth slave then?

Val: It's a hell of a lot better than me, being some dumb, happy go lucky blonde ditz or somethin'.

Protagonist: If you give it a chance, I'm sure you'll like it.

Val: You wish. You're like, hoping I'll be easy to get in bed with once I'm like, all hot for you.

Val (Bimbo): Well let me tell you! I have like, high standards. You gotta be like, super hot before you have a chance with me. I mean.. You are pretty hot. Well... Hot enough I guess. Wait.. Why aren't we fucking already?

Protagonist: I prefer to play with your mind before I get to your body.

Trivia

Val starts with 85 HP.
Her real magic is to change reality, but she gives this power to the Protagonist and claims she only has the ability to use some elemental magic.
Failing to enslave Val in the hallway unlocks a new enemy in her Mind.
She's Ms. Rack's niece, though it's unknown if it's on her father or mother's side.
In the intro if you did the Mass Bimbofication ending, she'll be in her bimbo self but everyone else will be as normal. She'll also remark that she's been with the Protagonist to the Dungeon before. Interestingly enough, despite looking like a bimbo by default, it's in reality her (new) normal personality, meaning you can change her to act like a bimbo again if you want to, though it'll only affect her personality.
Likewise, as of version 0.34, if you do the library scene with her, despite her being a bimbo, she'll show up in her normal self.
Her favorite color is purple.
She's the first character to fall under Drape's control. While under his control, she wears identical clothes to his but claims it was of her own free will. If you find the floor seven secret note while she's like this, she'll say that Drape's class is her favorite one, though this is most likely due to her changed personality.
She's in the same class as Molly, Cassandra, Sarah and the Protagonist.
She's one of three possible characters to choose to team up with during a NG+. The other two are Sarah and Molly.
It's unknown who she'll join if not chosen by the Protagonist during a NG+, but likely no one as she already has magic and waits for the Protagonist to come back from the Dungeon.
