"I am a pretty big deal. And don't worry about me ditching you, I'm pretty loyal to friends who actually appreciate my power!"

Sarah the Destructive Mage

Sarah is a playable character in Adventure High. She is a blue-loving mage who cares little for other kinds of magic and prefers to simply burn stuff to the ground.

She has the lowest possible starting affection towards the Protagonist, but is easy to increase to 1 heart.

She first encounters the Protagonist in Drape's classroom, where she asks to join the Protagonist's party. Saying that you're curious how you know she isn't lying increases her affection, while saying that it seems to be a big deal decreases it.

She reveals she was originally in a party with Cassandra, but remarks that "[Cassandra] was lucky [Sarah] stuck along as [Sarah] did". As they're former best friends, it's highly likely they made a party together due to Sarah having heavy hitting spells and Cassandra could cast debilitating magic to weaken them for Sarah.

If you allow Cassandra to take a gender change potion by doing their Dungeon Chatter scenes and having enslaved Cassandra, it results in Cassandra changing her gender and ask Sarah out in the past, but Cassandra does not remember this. However, due to her obsession and/or lust towards Sarah, Cassandra came off as a creepy ex towards her. As a result of this, Cassandra began tormenting Sarah for a full year to get over her crush of her. As a result of it, Sarah remembers them dating, but Cassandra does not.

If you go to Drape's class before Dr. Tiff's class, you have to attend that one for her to show up in the hallway. If you already attended Dr. Tiff's class, she'll be in the hallway once you're done with Drape's class. Saying you know a healing spell and then using Boost on her both affects her affection. Using Suppress on her causes her to become your slave and reduce affection. You can also use the Charm spell on her, causing her to fall in love with you and she won't mind if you have other girlfriends, too. Finally, you can use Grapple on her, which increases affection and makes her your slave.

Ignoring her causes her to run after you in the street, but she'll be pissed at you. You can also use Suppress to make her your slave at this point as well.

Sarah relies heavily on Destructive magic - especially Fire magic. She has a few other spells, but her low starting HP implies she joined the Protagonist's party as she was hoping for someone with a Healing spell to go with her in case she was unable to kill an enemy in one shot.

Party Role: Burst Damage

Despite being the weakest character in terms of HP and defenses, her high damage from various spells is more than enough to make up for it.

Her biggest downside is that she originally only has access to Fire-type magic. This is remedied by completing Sarah's home route and losing to the Bear Claw there, unlocking her Bubble spell. This causes some of her spells to change while also unlocking new elements for her to use, making her more similar to Val, in the regard that both has various elemental spells. In terms of raw burst, Sarah is superior to Val, but Val's Erase spell is more than enough to one-shot many powerful enemies, leaving the choice of who to bring up to you.

Sarah Stars In...

Sarah plays a major role in the following routes:

  • Heroic Route, where she assists the Protagonist to defeat Drape.
  • Doll Sarah, where she's transformed into a literal doll.
    • Funtime Sarah, where she seems to be... Well, a very special kind of doll. This is a spin-off of the Doll Sarah route.

Enslaving Sarah

  • The first chance you have to enslave Sarah is in the hallway when she goes to you for help. Flatout using Suppression on her or using Grapple for a scene causes her to be enslaved.
  • The second chance is if you piss her off in the streets. If you have Val as a slave, she'll help you enslave Sarah if you so desire. Otherwise, Val will prevent it.
  • The next option you have of enslaving her is in her mind after completing her Mind Dungeon. Use Suppression on her to count as your slave.
  • If you have Sarah and Mindless Val in the party, enter the dungeon and grab the third floor note. A scene will play out in which Sarah questions the Protagonist, giving the Protagonist two options - either give her what she asked for, making the Protagonist enslave her without issue. Otherwise, you can cast Confuse followed by Suppression at any time starting at the first dialogue option, or cast just Suppression at any point in dialogue where you are being honest.
  • You can also enslave her by doing the Doll Sarah route. When you're transforming her back to normal, you can simply cast Boost followed by Suppression on her. This causes her to end up in her Doll Sarah form. Note that by doing this, her personality changes to Eager to Please, although her looks won't change anymore.
  • An alternate option is also by giving her the Mysterious Book to read. If she has enough affection towards the Protagonist, she'll read the book and become the Protagonist's slave. To do so, go to the menu, click "Magic", choose the book, then click on her picture. If she already was, the Protagonist remarks that being the case.
  • If you're dating Sarah, you can also enslave her by going to the lake and speaking to her. In the scene that follows, she's seen doing some target practice. At any point during the scene, simply cast Suppression on her in order to enslave her.

Dating Sarah

To date Sarah, either get 50 or more affection, or cast Charm on her.

If you decide to get 50 affection:

Doing things this way requires you to play as Dan, since Sarah is straight, and have no other girlfriend prior. Otherwise she'll be disappointed and say she was too late. Once she has 50 affection, you can speak to her in the street and agree to go out with her.

A few ways to increase her affection are:

  • When you first meet her, ask how can you know she's telling the truth. She should now be at angry waves (don't care).
  • In the hallway, say you have a healing spell, then use Boost on her. She should now be at one heart (crush).
  • When you run into her in the street after Sarah has gotten to level 4, tell her you don't mind being broke. She's now either at three hearts, or very close to it.
  • Once you obtain the Stone Skin spell, wait until she says "Like plastic, for example?" and use it on her. She will now be at 3 heart affection if you did the steps above.

If you're still somehow short the 50 affection needed, simply give her a Love Potion or two.

If you decide to charm her:

There are currently three times when she can be charmed:

  • The first, when talking to her in the hallway (when she asks you to heal her twisted ankle). Cast Charm rather than Boost.
  • The second, when in her mind, during the Heroic Path.
  • It is also possible to Charm her during the scene at the lake where she's practicing her spells. However, this is somewhat redundant since for this scene to trigger she has to be your girlfriend already.

If you play as Rosa, charming her is the only way to date her as the spell makes the target fall helplessly in love with the caster. Also, if you charm her she won't mind if you have other girlfriends, saying she can share if she has to.

Be warned, charming Sarah anywhere other than in her mind shifts you to the Tempted Hero path. You'll be able to start it if you meet the requirements, but Drape never curses Sarah (nor any other student besides Val), so you can't continue past the conversation where you tell Ms. Rack what he did to Val.

Going on Dates

Lake Viewing

The first date with Sarah simply requires her to have 50 affection towards Dan (again, she's straight). Speak to her in the streets and either lie to her if you're dating someone else, or simply tell the truth that you're single. If you charmed her she can be found in the Hallway and will immediately ask you out. Either way head to your room to talk to her there and you'll go to the lake.

Once there, avoid talking about the forest as it'll decrease her affection. If her affection is too low, she also won't make out with you. Talking about the lake increases affection.

If you had enough affection to make out with her, she'll next be found at the Protagonist's house. Choose to take the lead for her to learn a support spell (Passion Heal). Note that this one replaces Cauterize, if she had it. If she didn't, she automatically obtains ten support proficiency, more than plenty to learn the first spell.

It is possible to use a gender change potion before talking to her in your room to date Sarah as a gender changed Dan without Charming her, but you will be unable to go on the second date.

Might just be me but the angle feels weird. Eh, w/e. You can cast Ignite if you have it during this scene (sadly, does not actually ignite Sarah's clothes).

Date Plan: Target Practice

The second date requires to have seen the previous one successfully and for Sarah to be level 15 or above. She can again be found at the lake.

Recruitment

Sarah joins when attending Drape's first class. Asking how she knows telling the truth causes her to get an affection boost.

Fixing Sarah's Mind

On the Heroic route, after fixing Val's mind and speaking to Ms. Rack, Sarah will speak to the Protagonist in the school hallway. It's obvious she has been enslaved by Drape, so the Protagonist is forced to fix her mind as well.

In completing her mind, casting Boost gives her an additional 50 HP - and if Val is present, a somewhat jealous remark from the latter. Doing this also makes you unable to enslave Sarah down the line, as you enhanced her mind to avoid being possible to enslave again.

It is possible to enslave her at any time after fixing her mind by giving her the Mysterious Book. Simply give her the book from the menu while she's part of your active party (three people entering the dungeon).

Sarah's Past

In the past, Sarah didn't live in the city. However, she was forced to move there when a monster killed her parents, leaving her an orphan. Believing her parents to have abandoned her, she resents them until proven otherwise during a date with the Protagonist.

It is possible to go with her to visit the ruins of her old home. This plot includes an unwinnable battle and will unlock a few new spells (Possession for the Protagonist and Bubble for Sarah) as well as the chance to enslave her ghost mother. If the protagonist meets the requirements (having five notes, and Sarah being at level 10), talk to her in the lake to begin, then agree to accompany her. In order to trigger this scene, there are two ways:

The first way is by finding out about Sarah's past. This happens at four different points.

  • Save her mind during the Heroic Route. Note: the relevant conversation happens before you cast the spell, but if you change her personality (by casting either Grapple or Confuse) the scene in the lake doesn't trigger.
  • Agree to turn her into a doll (read below as to how), then instead of fixing her right away, leave her inanimate and gain five levels.
  • Make her talk about her past while going on a date with her by choosing to talk either about the lake or the forest twice.
  • During her first conversation in the streets (when she teases you for being poor) cast Confusion on her at any time during the conversation. Sarah will lose her train of thought and the Protagonist will change the subject. Choose "Tell me about yourself" and she'll start ranting about how much she hates monsters.

The first three also require that she is level eleven or higher and that you have reached floor ten of the dungeon but no further than floor fifteen (meaning fourteen is the last possible floor) for the scene at the lake to trigger. Otherwise, she only needs level ten. Head to the lake at this point and she'll ask if you can go with her to her house. Do note that she requires 50 or more affection regardless of route chosen.

It is possible, however, to bypass this criteria by talking to her on a NG+ if you have done her home plot on a regular new game. She'll have some vague memories of this and as such, does not require the Protagonist to find out about her past again. Simply doing her scenes (school - streets - Drape's classroom) should make her show up at the lake and ask the Protagonist to join her, as long as her level and affection requirements are met.

While she's a former best friend of Cassandra's, Cassandra fell in love with Sarah (something Sarah was originally not aware of). Due to Sarah being straight, Cassandra bullies Sarah in hope of not feeling anything for Sarah anymore.

In an alternate timeline, in which Cassandra and Sarah began going out, they broke up after that Sarah found Cassandra starting to get creepy. It's implied Cassandra in that timeline had changed her gender to become a guy in order to date Sarah.

Honey, I shrunk the destructive mage!

If the Protagonist has access to the Transform and Shrink spells, the Protagonist can cast Transform on Sarah from the menu while in the streets. Doing so causes a short scene in which you can cast Shrink on Sarah, which has alternate dialogue if she's in her doll form.

After transforming into Sarah, you can speak to Cassandra at the school and cast Charm on her to be able to start dating her, but it is not yet implemented as of version 0.62.

Sarah the Drop Out

If you start Sarah's home route, but decide against tagging with her, one of four routes will play out:

  • If Cassandra is in your team, she will convince Sarah not to drop out.
  • If Cassandra is NOT in your team, Sarah will drop out. If Sarah is your slave at this point, the Protagonist will tell her that it's not [Sarah's] choice, meaning she will not drop out.
  • If Sarah dropped out, she will rejoin you after she saves you from Drape on the Heroic Route as the Protagonist will convince her that despite nearly threatening the Protagonist's life once, she saved him/her, so it's even.
  • If you already dealt with Drape and she got you out, the Protagonist will thank her for saving him/her from Drape, showing that she's courageous.

Sarah the Doll

Note: Sarah has to be a minimum level of seven for this scene to play out.

After obtaining the Stone Skin spell, having 25 or more affection towards her, and having viewed the scene with her and Cassandra in Drape's office, talk to Sarah in the street without her being your slave. Say you're not busy and follow the conversation until she says "Like plastic, for example?".

Use Stone Skin on her at this point - or any point after that - and she'll remark her skin is like plastic. This also causes her to get a great boost in affection.

Next time you meet her (which requires you to attend the first of Jane's Private Classes), agree to turn her into a Doll again but don't change her back. She'll now stand in your room until you decide to fix her and change her back to normal.

While you change her back to normal, it's possible to enslave her.

Having her as a doll makes you able to start the Funtime Sarah plotline, in which she'll willingly become your Doll and remarks that she loves being played with.

Whether you enslave her or return her to normal, she will always be in her normal blue outfit during normal conversation, even if you change her personality, though she will behave as normal in those personalities (cocky in tough, doing anything she can to please the Protagonist in Eager to Please and so on). This is due to her not having the artwork for alternate Doll clothes yet - for example, regardless of form, she will always be in her Normal clothes in her Doll form during the library scene.

As of version 0.49, if Sarah is a doll and the Protagonist's slave, while she's in Normal personality, it became possible to make Sarah a doll once more. To do so, simply talk to her, choose that you're gonna play with her, then turn her into a doll again.

Funtime Sarah

After turning Sarah into a doll, the Protagonist can fix her by casting Boost on her. Adding her into the active party while she's in her Doll form, a treasure chest on the eleventh floor of the dungeon becomes possible to unlock. The Protagonist finds some clothes for Sarah, which are pink and quite revealing. Heading on home, the Protagonist can now speak to Sarah, who agrees to wearing this outfit for a short scene.

At the end of the scene, the Protagonist can put away the outfit or tell Sarah that she can wear it again. Choosing the latter seems to cause her to hesitate a little, but she agrees to it in the end.

Speaking to Sarah again will trigger another scene where she wears the outfit again. The Protagonist can either play with her or demand an explanation.

If the Protagonist chooses the latter, "Sarah" explains that she's not really Sarah - it's in reality the clothes, which is a monster who wants to be loved. The Protagonist can at this point either put away the monster for good, or agree to play with Sarah again.

The third and final scene as of version 0.62 is walking in on Sarah in the Protagonist's living room. During this scene, she's seen playing with herself, causing the Protagonist to be rather shocked upon seeing it.

Faculty Control Ending

Testimony type: Both.

Sarah is the first character, if she's a slave, to provide testimony towards the Protagonist, likely because she's known the Protagonist the longest save for Val.

Sarah provides good testimony if any of the following criteria are met:

  • If you went with Sarah to her home, she will bring this up and be grateful.
  • If you introduced Sarah to her mother, she brings this up and thanks the Protagonist for this.
  • If you turned Sarah into a doll, she'll thank you for helping her instead of mocking her.

Slave outfits

Normal

  • She's wearing a blue and white dress, white stockings and a blue hat. In this personality, she swears once in a while, though it's somewhat rare. Whether her staff is for increasing her magic strength or solely for show is unknown.
    • You can change her into a Doll while she's in this form as long as you already unlocked that once before assuming she's your slave.
      • As a doll, she's placed in the Protagonist's bedroom.

Mindless

  • She only says a few words and her eyes are blank, wearing the same outfit.

Eager to Please

  • Her outfit and hair turns red and she'll do everything she can to make the Protagonist happy. The orb on her staff turns pink as well as her eyes. Her pupils turns heart shaped.

Tough

  • Her outfit turns black and purple. Her hair and the orb on her staff both turn purple. She'll refer to you as 'Boss' and do whatever you say.

Needy

  • This outfit is only possible to obtain by using Confuse on her while saving her Mind.
    • Similar to Eager to Please, her outfit and hair turns red. She's very clingy towards the Protagonist.
      • It's unknown if Needy and Eager to Please are the same outfit, but it seems likely. It's highly possible that the name just changed.

Bimbo

  • Her hair turns blonde, her eyes turns pink and her breasts grow visibly larger. She speaks like a bimbo, seemingly only being interested in fucking and having fun. She hopes she never goes back to normal.
    • She must be in her Doll form to access this form.
      • This form is only possible to access on the Bimbo World NG+.
        • To transform her, meet her in the school, then in the Protagonist's room.

Enchantment Levels

Enchanting Sarah's clothes gives the following stats:

Level 1

Attack

+15 Power and a small boost in affection.

Defense

+50 HP, +5 Defense and a small drop in affection.

Endurance

+2 Speed, +20 Stamina

Trivia

  • She's the first character in the game to get an affection boost or drop from enchanting her clothes.
    • Specifically, giving her a Power boost increases it, but giving her a Defense boost decreases it.
  • She seems to be interested in dolls, to the point she asks the Protagonist to transform her into one. This is possibly because, in the past, she had a doll that she assumed was stolen.
  • She was the first character to get all eight spells in the same tree. In her case, Destructive.
  • If you're dating her and turn her into a doll and say you made her a realistic doll in case you wanted to play with her, she seems turned on by the idea, but quickly dismisses it, saying they barely started going out.
    • She's the first character in the game you were able to date.
      • If you're not dating her and choose the same option, the Protagonist will remark how she's actually attracted to the thought of her being the Protagonist's doll.
  • She's the first character to have an inanimate version of herself. In her case, it's the Doll Sarah.
  • She was originally in a party with Cassandra (as revealed in Drape's First Class) but due to arguing with each other, Sarah joined the Protagonist's party instead.
  • Her favorite color is blue, claiming it's the only fire hot enough for her. The Protagonist calls her out on it, saying that white fire is hotter, causing Sarah to admit it.
  • According to Cassandra, she had dyed her hair some time ago, before she changed it back to blue around last year.
    • According to the creator, she dyed her hair red due to Cassandra's influence.
      • This makes her one of three characters to have an unnatural hair color as their real hair color.
  • She's in the same class as the Protagonist, Val, Molly, Victoria, Julia and Cassandra.
    • If you attempt to recruit her during a NG+, she reveals that she's friends with Cassandra and plans to going into a party with her. However, they have a falling out shortly after, thus joining the Protagonist's group.
      • Sarah and Cassandra will always group on the first day. Due to this, she's one of two characters that is confirmed to be unable to join the party by default.
  • If you decide to enslave her in the hallway by using Grapple, this will increase her affection rather than decrease it as she loves assertive men. This could imply that she's secretly submissive, or she just doesn't want to date a pushover.
  • She seems to have a keener sense of smell compared to everyone else, as she remarks that Derrick's hair gel smells terrible. The Protagaonist can't smell it at all and Val remarks that the smell is fairly subtle.
    • Since the hair gel is made out of slime, it's unknown if it's due to it being monster related, or a keener sense in general.
