A list of Monsters in Adventure High.
Monsters spawning on overlapping floors (for example 4-6) is listed in the earliest floor they spawn. In that case, it's floor 1-5.
Suggested team means the team you're recommended to use the first time you encounter that particular enemy.
New intervals are added every 5 floors (so 1-5, 6-10, 11-15 etc).
"Capture" means how much money you gain for capturing that enemy using a Chakram.
Monsters with no 'Capture' list simply gives 0.
"Escape level" is the level that monsters starts escaping from you. This is based of the Protagonist's level and not the party average. So if the Protagonist is high enough level for Slime Girl to escape, but the other two are level one, the Slime Girl will always escape unless Monster Escape is turned to off in the Menu. Monsters listed with a ? means it's currently unknown.
Monsters with two levels escapes initially at that level, but also escapes at the second level if they spawn with a specific enemy (such as the Skull Slime).
Monsters with (MG) after them are treated as Monster Girls and give unique Bad Endings. If Julia is in the party in her Normal Personality, losing against two normal monsters and two Monster Girls causes a scene to play out in the dungeon which leads to the start of the Intelligent Monsters route.
The suggested team and the notes beneath are comments that anyone is free to change, should they want to - it's more of a guideline than anything else.
Dungeon Floor 1-5
Baby Slime
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Physical
- HP: 40
- POWER: 5
- SPEED: 5
- DEFENSE: 3
- EXPERIENCE: 75
- DROPS: 1 Slime
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 2-3.
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Any.
- CAPTURE: 140 Gems
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 4
This is most likely the first random enemy you run into. No strategy needed. Hit it hard. You might deal crap damage, so be prepared with a Boost, in case things goes south.
Tentacle Grape
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Ground
- HP: 70
- POWER: 7
- SPEED: 5
- DEFENSE: 7
- EXPERIENCE: 100
- DROPS: 1 Tentacle
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 3-5
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Any
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 6
Probably the second enemy you encounter. They tend to spawn with either a Baby Slime, another of its own kind, or a Bluefooted Boobie. They're not terribly hard. Simply hit them hard as hell.
Bluefooted Boobie
- WEAKNESS: Ice
- RESISTANCE: Charm
- HP: 80
- POWER: 18
- SPEED: 12
- DEFENSE: 12
- EXPERIENCE: 150
- DROPS: None
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 4-6
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Any
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 10
This enemy is very tanky for being so early in the game. Unless you're level 4-5+, you'll probably never see double digit damage, even with Sarah. Keep your HP up and you should be taking it down pretty easily.
Dungeon Floor 6-10
Rubber Naga (MG)
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Physical
- HP: 100
- POWER: 26
- SPEED: 15
- DEFENSE: 20
- EXPERIENCE: 250
- DROPS: 1 Tail
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 6-8
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Any
- CAPTURE: 500
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 11
This is a very easy enemy to defeat, but it got decent defenses so it might take a little bit of time on low levels.
Mature Slime
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Physical
- HP: 305
- POWER: 30
- SPEED: 18
- DEFENSE: 5
- EXPERIENCE: 300
- DROPS: 2 Slime
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 7-9
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Sarah, any
- CAPTURE: 600
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 14
While a rather easy enemy to defeat, especially due to it being weak to Fire, on lower levels, they might cause you to get a game over. Still, keeping your HP up makes it a pretty easy fight to win.
Skull Slime
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Physical
- HP: 500
- POWER: 40
- SPEED: 21
- DEFENSE: 5
- EXPERIENCE: 375
- DROPS: 3 Slime
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 8-10
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Sarah, any
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 18/26 (with Sprout)
Those guys hits hard and they hit fast. And they tend to spawn in groups of two. Focus all your power in bursting one of them, then focus on the other one.
Slime Girl (MG)
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Physical
- HP: 705
- POWER: 55
- SPEED: 30
- DEFENSE: 5
- EXPERIENCE: 700
- DROPS: 5 Slime
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 9-10
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Sarah, any
- CAPTURE: 1400
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 21
Sarah may be effective because her third spell deals 300-400+ damage to this enemy.
Sprout
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Ground
- HP: 400
- POWER: 30
- SPEED: 7
- DEFENSE: 35
- EXPERIENCE: 275
- DROPS: None
- LOCATION: Dungeon Floor 10
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Sarah
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 26
Those guys are unusual. If it spawns with a second enemy, it might consume the other one, causing it to become an actual threat (namely the Mandragora listed below). Killing the allied enemy, however, causes the Sprout to become harmless, though it takes a while to kill.
Mandragora
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Ground
- HP: 500
- POWER: 44
- SPEED: 30
- DEFENSE: 36
- EXPERIENCE: 1200
- DROPS: 1 Nectar
- LOCATION: Dungen Floor 10 (if it ate an ally), Dungeon Floor 11 otherwise.
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Sarah, Cassandra
- CAPTURE: 2400
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 31
This guy hits hard and it hits fast. It can also use Grapple, causing you to be unable to move for a while. If the Protagonist isn't affected, have him/her use Conversion: Speed (if you have it). If s/he is... You may be in trouble. With Sarah using powerful spells and Cassandra using Confuse or similar, they shouldn't be too much of a threat in the end.
Dungeon Floor 11-15
Flower Girl (MG)
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Ground
- HP: 600
- POWER: 55
- SPEED: 30
- DEFENSE: 42
- EXPERIENCE: 1000
- DROPS: 1 Nectar
- LOCATION: Dungeon Floor 12
- CAPTURE: 2000
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 29
- EFFECTIVE/SUGGESTED SPELLS: Burning Finger (Sarah), Grass Knuckle (Valerie).
They tend to spawn in sets of two and have lots of health. And they can use Charm which... Doesn't seem to do anything at present time. So that's nice. Be warned, they can also cause Poison, so having Conversion: Speed is a good idea.
One very simple way to beat them is this: Bring the Protagonist (who must know Trip), Sarah and Valerie or Ashley. Sarah and Ashley/Valerie should hit them with their strongest spells while the Protagonist uses Trip (which should deal 2-300 damage and heavily delay one of them). It's very easy to gain levels using this strategy, just make sure to head back to the room and save between battles!
Bad Bud
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Ground
- HP: 900
- POWER: 65
- SPEED: 35
- DEFENSE: 45
- EXPERIENCE: 1200
- DROPS: 1 Nectar
- Location: Dungeon Floor 13
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Sarah, Any
- CAPTURE: 2400
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 38
- EFFECTIVE/SUGGESTED SPELLS: Fire Fist (Sarah)
They either spawn alone along with a Flower Girl, or they spawn in sets of two. Regardless, they hit hard and they hit fast. Like with Flower Girls, bring 3 heavy hitting characters. Sarah, Valerie and Ashley all fit very well. While possible to bring Molly or Julia, it's ill-advised due to them lacking heavy hitting spells at the moment.
Use a strategy similar to Flower Girls in order to defeat them without much issue, but due to how durable they are, it might cause a few resets. Having the Protagonist around low 20s and the others in the high 10s (around level 18-21) is highly recommended before you start trying to take those on.
Bark Fish
- WEAKNESS: Ground
- RESISTANCE: Fire
- HP: 700
- POWER: 50
- SPEED: 30
- DEFENSE: 42
- EXPERIENCE: 1000
- DROPS: None
- LOCATION: Dungeon Floor 14-15
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Valerie, Ashley
- CAPTURE: 3600
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 36
- EFFECTIVE/SUGGESTED SPELLS: Grass Knuckle, Stone Fist (Valerie on both)
Bark Fish, being aquatic creatures are fire-resistant. Sarah has mostly Fire spells (with few exceptions), meaning she'll deal crap damage. They're not too tough, having 100 more HP than Flower Girls, but they still hit hard and they hit somewhat fast. Keeping your HP up with Group Heal (from Molly), Boost, Flirt (with high enough affection on the others) and other spells are recommended, but not nearly as needed compared to Bad Buds.
Alure Fish
- WEAKNESS: Grass
- RESISTANCE: Fire
- HP: 1300
- POWER: 45
- SPEED: 35
- DEFENSE: 10
- EXPERIENCE: 3600
- DROPS: None
- LOCATION: Dungeon Floor 15-16
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Valerie, Molly/Ashley/Cassandra
- CAPTURE: 7200
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 41
Alure fish hit fairly hard (dealing around 90ish damage) have high HP but also provide lots of EXP.
Simply hit it hard with your strongest attacks. It's a good idea to bring whatever characters that's lagging behind to fight a few of those to make them catch up in levels.
Sarah, like other water-elemental enemies, is a bad choice to bring. Molly, Ashley and Cassandra are all viable picks in place of her (Molly for keeping your HP up, Ashley and Cassandra due to non-elemental attacks). Her Fire Strike spell is a decent option if you decide to bring her. If you did Sarah's Home plot, it's replaced with the Lightning spell, which does a lot of damage to them.
A decent level Ashley (around 24+) can kill those guys in one shot with a Rapid Punch, even if she's at around half Stamina.
Dungeon Floors 16-20
Spearfish
- WEAKNESS: Grass
- RESISTANCE: Fire
- HP: 1000
- POWER: 45
- SPEED: 40
- DEFENSE: 65
- EXPERIENCE: 1000
- DROPS: 1 Fish Scale
- LOCATION: Dungeon floors 16-17
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Ashley, any.
- CAPTURE: 4100 for 1, 8000 for both.
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 42
These guys hits hard and they hit somewhat fast. Your best option is simply hitting them as hard as you can while hoping they won't get too many turns in. Ashley with Rapid Punch can effectively OHKO them for you. You can also bring Molly for healing purposes if you notice that you take too much of a beating. Be warned, they can also weaken your team, causing you to take increased damage. Having Erase on Val is also a good option.
Aquatic Girl (MG)
- WEAKNESS: Grass
- RESISTANCE: Fire
- HP: 1200
- POWER: 40
- SPEED: 35
- DEFENSE: 75
- EXPERIENCE: 2000
- DROPS: 1 Fish Scale
- LOCATION: Dungeons floor 17
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Ashley, Val/Reese
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 45
They hit VERY hard and they hit somewhat fast. Your best bet is to hit them as hard as you can back. Note that they can OHKO you, dealing over 600 damage at level 30! Bringing Val (preferably with her Erase spell) or Reese (with any hard-hitting spell) is recommended. As always, Ashley's Rapid Punch is a good choice to bring, too. Sarah, like the past few floors, is sadly lacking in damage output.
Bubble Slime
- WEAKNESS: Grass
- RESISTANCE: Fire
- HP: 2500
- POWER: 50
- SPEED: 40
- DEFENSE: 5
- EXPERIENCE: 2500
- DROPS: 20 Slime
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 18
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Val, Ashley (Molly if low leveled)
- CAPTURE: 6400
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 46
- EFFECTIVE SPELLS: Ice knife (Val)
- INEFFECTIVE SPELLS: Grass fist (Val)
Those guys are tanky and hit hard. Your best bet is bringing the Protagonist with Trip to heavily delay them, Val with Overgrowth (or, if you have it, Erase) along with Ashley who should be able to deal some decent damage using Rapid Punch on them. They either spawn in sets of two, or with a Spearfish (unknown why, likely meant to be an Aquatic Girl).
Frost Troll
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Water
- HP: 2000
- POWER: 75
- SPEED: 40
- DEFENSE: 50
- EXPERIENCE: 2500
- DROPS: While it states "Slime Goo," you do not actually obtain slime from them.
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 19-20, 22 (weakened)
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Sarah, Ashley
- CAPTURE: 8000
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 51
Hey, Sarah is actually useful again! This guy is weak to fire and his HP isn't too bad, but that said, he can hit like a lesser truck. Luckily, he only spawns alone but don't underestimate his damage output.
The weakened version spawns on floor 22 and seems to miss its turn half the time. It might have changed stats but it's not confirmed.
Frost Imp
- WEAKNESS: Grass
- RESISTANCE: Fire
- HP: 3000
- POWER: 60
- SPEED: 65
- DEFENSE: 55
- EXPERIENCE: 3500
- DROPS: Nothing
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 20
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Val (with Overgrowth/Erase), Ashley or Reese
- CAPTURE: 8400
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 61
And Sarah goes back to being less than ideal. Great. Those guys spawns in sets of two, hits hard and they hit fast. Keeping your HP up and heavily delaying them with the Protagonist is probably your best bet. Note: it says "presumed" because their actual escape level is unconfirmed. If you can confirm it, feel free to correct it!
Dungeon Floors 20-25
Twin Turtle
- WEAKNESS: Ground
- RESISTANCE: Ice
- HP: 2500
- POWER: 80
- SPEED: 20
- DEFENSE: 100
- EXPERIENCE: 4500
- DROPS: Icy Hot Shell
- LOCATION: Floor 22
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Ashley, Sarah or Val
- CAPTURE: 14,000 Gems
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 63 (presumed). Note: their escape level is not confirmed, it might be 62.
This is actually a rather easy enemy - while it has higher power, it only takes a few attacks from a good leveled team (40+) to bring it down.
Bosses
Demoman
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Physical
- HP: 50
- EXPERIENCE: 100
- LOCATION: Dungeon Floor 1.
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Protagonist, Val.
This is the first enemy in the game. Whether you made Val your slave or not, simply hit him once. Val always deals 96 damage to him, which is always a OHKO as long as she's at full Stamina.
If you choose to tag with Molly or Julia in a New Game+, you will not fight this one as the Protagonist won't have his/her magic and, presumably, because Val didn't create it.
Special Enemies
Special enemies are unique in the aspect that they either
1) Only spawn after a certain scene (e.g Heart Slime)
2) They don't exist in the Dungeon.
Cassandra
- HP: 140
- WEAKNESS: Physical
- RESISTANCE: Destructive
- EXPERIENCE: 500
- RECOMMENDED PARTY: Protagonist
If you choose to fight her rather than accepting her deal, you will fight her 1v1 with the Protagonist. Either use Boost 4 times to turn her into a cow (as long as she has full HP) or simply attack her with Grapple or Trip. She'll go down fairly easily. Note that she's resistant to Destructive spells, so those won't do you any good.
Berserker
- HP: 400
- WEAKNESS: None
- RESISTANCE: None
- EXPERIENCE: 200
- RECOMMENDED PARTY: Any
UNLOCKED BY: Once you hit level 3, she'll spawn on the first floor of the dungeon. The odds are terribly low but increase as you increase in level. You can also find out information about her by going to Dr. Tiff's room. There's a 5% (1/20) chance that a scene will trigger in which you'll see a scene where two students remarks they were attacked by a monster on the first floor.
Otherwise, befriend Julia enough for her to reveal she's looking for her sister. Once done, head to the first floor of the Dungeon. Note that the higher level you are, the higher odds she'll spawn.
To defeat her, simply use Suppress 3 times with the Protagonist (in the same battle). Done. Should you beat her, she'll run off. Simply keep going around floor 1 and she'll spawn again.
Berserker (Mind Enemy)
- HP: 1000
- WEAKNESS: None
- RESISTANCE: None
- EXPERIENCE: 800
- RECOMMENDED PARTY: Protagonist, Valerie, Cassandra/Sarah (if high leveled), Molly (if low leveled).
A lot harder than the first battle against her, with her having 2,5x the HP compared to the first battle. Keep your HP up at all times (if you have Molly, bring her and have her use Group Heal every single turn if you're a low level).
The other two should hit her with their strongest spells. Meanwhile, simply pray she'll be defeated soon.
Unlike the previous battle, you MUST deplete her HP to 0 in order to win this battle.
Bear Claw (Unwinnable)
- HP: Unknown
- WEAKNESS: Unknown
- RESISTANCE: Unknown
- RECOMMENDED PARTY: Protagonist, Cassandra (see below).
This guy only shows up if you complete any of those three criteria:
-You completed Sarah's date and she mentioned having to head home.
-Had her as a Doll and gained five levels without restoring her to normal.
-Simply went on the Heroic Route and fixed her mind.
She also needs to be level 11 and have 50 or more Affection. You must also have gone to the 10th floor or lower, but no further than the 15th floor (meaning floor 14 is the furthest you can go).
Once the criteria are met, decide to tag along with her. She's found at the Lake. It's an unwinnable battle (he'll deal 5000+ damage and you'll probably have around 200 HP at this point). After this battle, Sarah unlocks the Bubble spell. You can also unlock the Possession spell in the scene that follows if you so please.
If you choose not to tag along with her, another scene plays out, in which an unnamed adventurer has found her and brings her back to school. You can visit her in Dr. Tiff's room, in which she gets scolded. She rejoins your party as normal after this if you have Cassandra in your party or she saved you from Drape.
Bear Claw Alternate (Winnable)
There's an alternate version to this battle, in which Cassandra joins you during the battle. To do so, start the Sarah Home plot (dating her as Dan is by far the easiest) and then start the Submissive route. Because Cass will always be in slot 2 during the Submissive route, she will follow the Protagonist and Sarah to Sarah's old home and confront them. When the Bear Claw shows up, Cassandra helps out in the battle.
To win this battle, you must have Liquid Life bottles with you. Cassandra will use them on each of her turns to inflict a random status effect on the monster. It can either be Confused into killing itself, get afflicted by Be Nice so if it kills one of you, it'll kill itself from reflect damage or it can be Persuaded into attacking itself.
Depending on how you won, one of four routes plays out:
- If neither one is KO'd, Sarah is relieved to see you're both fine.
- If the Protagonist is KO'd, Cass says that the Protagonist isn't too badly hurt.
- If Cass is KO'd, she demands a heal.
- If both are KO'd, Sarah's mom will request of Sarah to help getting them back to town.
Heart Slime
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Physical
- HP: 340
- POWER: 24
- SPEED: 12
- DEFENSE: 1
- WEAKNESS: Fire
- RESISTANCE: Physical
- EXPERIENCE: 150
- DROPS: 10 Slime
- LOCATION: Dungeon floor 4
- RECOMMENDED PARTY: Any
- CAPTURE: 300
- ESCAPE LEVEL: 10
Heart Slime is the first Special Enemy you'll most likely encounter.
To encounter it, you must visit the Item Shop (unlocked by getting to floor 4), then visiting the Monster Ranch and speaking to Erin and Eric. Once done, check the board in the back of the store and you'll be able to start finding (and capturing) those. You only need to capture one in order to get your reward.
Biggest problem with the Heart Slime is to not have another party member kill it before getting a Chakram on it. Easiest way is to go in alone and to use Torment.
Frost Queen
- WEAKNESS: Unknown
- RESISTANCE: Unknown
- HP: A God damn lot.
- POWER: Unknown
- SPEED: Unknown
- DEFENSE: Unknown
- EXPERIENCE: 2500
- DROPS: Nothing
- LOCATION: Yes.
- SUGGESTED TEAM: Ashley solo
- ESCAPE LEVEL: None
It's highly advised you are level 25-30 before you even attempt to take her on.
By "you," I of course mean Ashley. See, this battle is a solo battle between her and the Frost Queen, which was the reason that Ashley once lost her soul - and her two party members.
Ashley will be in her Berserk state for the duration of this battle, making you unable to control her manually. If you haven't enhanced her clothes already, it's highly advised you do so.
If you fail, but have Julia's bracelet complete, you still win.
If you win for real, you can enslave her by casting a Chakram once you realize she's faking being dead, but nothing further happens if you do.
(To do list: check if this battle triggers if Ashley is lacking her Berserk spell).
Mind Enemies
Enemies that spawns in a characters mind as you try to save them.
Trivia
- Prior to version 0.23, it was possible to grind on the Demoman using the Protagonist and Val to max out their current skill trees by having Val constantly attacking while the Protagonist kept healing it until they unlocked all spells. As of version 0.23, this became impossible as Val will always OHKO it due to it being weak to Fire.
- As of version 0.36, it became psuedo-possible again, though it takes time. If you die to the Demoman in the Dungeon four times, it leads to a game over. Starting up the game again lets you keep whatever Stamina and Proficiency you had, so in theory, it's possible, but not advisable.
- The Demoman looks like the character from Team Fortress 2. This is, without a doubt, intentional.
- In the future, it will be possible to use monsters for various things outside of taming. Whether it's having sex with them or having them in your party is unknown.
- The Rubber Naga was the first monster to have an ending related to a Game Over. This was added in version 0.38.
- In version 0.47, a scene was added with Erin playing with one of them, making them the first monster to have an indirect Play With scene.
- The Bluefooted Booby enemy is most likely a reference to a bird by the same name. However, the enemy is literal boobs with blue feet, instead of a bird.
- Ashley survived for a full year in the dungeon by attacking students and stealing their supplies. When no students were present, she went down another floor and killed Baby Slimes, which she then ate.
