"...Ignorance upsets me. I will keep my composure in the future."
Julia the Intelligent Mage
Julia is the best girl (of the students) and also a playable character in Adventure High and a school student who normally hangs out in the library.
She's unique in the aspect she refuses to go to the dungeon, no matter what happens originally. The only time she will - willingly - go down there is in order to find the Berserker - or when the Berserker has gotten her mind fixed.
The reason for this is that she promised her parents not go to down there after her big sister went there and disappeared. As such, she relies on the Protagonist to help her finding the Secret Notes but in exchange gives him/her information about the others at school.
Julia, like Molly, lacks damaging spells initially. Instead, all of her initial spells focuses on Support (such as finding out how much health the enemy has left and similar).
She plays a major part in the cure Ashley plotline after which, assuming you didn't enslave her prior, she becomes playable.
She's also one of the main characters - though not a required character for the ending - of the Mysterious Book plotline. During it, she'll permanently change into her Slutty looks, though she'll retain her original personality. Mostly.
Party Role: Support
Julia has limited offensive capabilities, only having two offensive spells. However, she has access to two powerful Support spells: one that hastes you and allows you to escape a battle 100% of the time under the influence and another one, which allows you track monsters to avoid them (halved encounter rate), encounter them (doubled encounter rate) or deactivate it, returning the encounter rate back to normal.
Julia Stars In...
Julia plays a major role in the following routes:
- Heroic Route, where she sides with the Protagonist to try and stop Drape.
- Julia's Arsenal, in which she tries to create a device to learn new types of spells.
- Berserker Route, where she tries to save her sister.
- Mysterious Book Route, in which she either tries to enslave Rosa (female Protagonist) or become Dan's slave (male Protagonist).
- Logical Submissive Route, in which she becomes the Protagonist's domme.
Enslaving Julia
The first chance you have to enslave her is during the first meeting. Use Confuse on her, then Suppress. Otherwise, use Confuse and then Grapple for a scene. Regardless of which you do, she'll become your slave.
If you choose not to enslave her but decide to do so later, you get another chance when fighting the Berserker. Once the Berserker runs off, you can use Suppress on Julia in the scene that follows.
The third chance you have is if you defeated the Berserker by using Suppress on her. A scene will trigger in the library, in which she admits to sending the Berserker home. Choose to punish her and you'll end up enslaving her along with Ashley. However, in doing so, Ashley's mind breaks permanently.
Another way of enslaving her is by completing the Berserker plotline and keeping Ashley as your slave. Afterwards, enslave Julia for a scene in which she and Ashley makes out.
An easily missable chance to enslave Julia is to start to date her. Have at least two other slaves, and wait for the line "Very well. I can't stop you". Cast Suppression on her during that line and she becomes your slave, obviously meaning you won't date her.
If you're helping Brittany escape and enslaving Brittany using a Chakram, you can cast Suppression or Grapple on Julia at the end of the scene (casting Grapple causes a CG to play out) to enslave her as well. If you have not enslaved Ashley (nor started to date Julia), this leads to the start of the Willing Slave Ashley route.
If she is freed in the Redemption Route, you can enslave her again by casting Grapple or Suppression at any time during your confrontation in the library, or use any other method above that hasn't expired.
Dating Julia
While she's possible to date, she's very easy to screw up on.
To date her, the Protagonist must find five Secret Notes and give to her.
Giving her enough causes a few scenes to happen. During the third scene (unlocked by giving her five notes), it's possible to use the Flirt spell on her as long as she has 30 affection or above. By giving her enough notes - and agreeing with her during conversations - it's very easy to reach 30 affection. If you're short of 30 affection, simply give her some Love Potions from the store.
Once you've used Flirt on her, go to the lake and watch another scene. The Protagonist will ask if the noises doesn't disturb her, to which she says she has a trick to cancel them out.
During the scene in which the Protagonist asks her to teach him/her the trick, she'll say it's a waste of time. Use Flirt on her again during this sentence and you'll go on a date with her.
If you have enslaved two or more people, tell her that you don't want to - or don't have to - enslave her. She'll think the Protagonist doesn't want her, but is corrected. She decides to agree on the date.
During the date, choose to either stick in the library or go to the lake again. Either way, ask her about her research (or why she won't go into the dungeon). She'll explain that her big sister is missing somewhere in the dungeon but she doesn't know where exactly.
If you choose to go to the Monster Ranch, she'll explain that she's not afraid of monsters, but has other reasons for refusing to go into the dungeon, but refuse to go into detail. This results in the date ending in a failure.
If you're in the library, tell her that you won't touch her sister if you find her and she'll agree to dating you. Choosing that you can't promise anything causes her to understand why you say so, but she will be disappointed and the date ends in failure.
Finally, she will NOT date you if you already found Ashley and brought her to Julia. So in other words, you must date her BEFORE finding Ashley.
Recruitment
Julia joins the party automatically upon fixing Ashley's mind (listed below).
Cure Ashley
Julia volunteers to take care of her, but soon sends her home. Ashley, not realizing she meant her actual home, goes to the Protagonist's house as she was defeated by the Protagonist and only wishes to follow someone strong.
After becoming a part of the party and reaching the tenth floor of the dungeon, the Protagonist talks to Julia again. She's now trying to teach Ashley how to read, but she says it's boring and that she wants to fight. Julia remarks that [Ashley] doesn't know what [Ashley] wants, causing Ashley to attack herd
Shortly after, Julia deems it fit to send Ashley back to their parents. The Protagonist, if s/he went on a successful date with her can either reply with saying it's a terrible idea - Julia briefly mentions that her parents might change their minds on letting her go into the dungeon in that case. The Protagonist scolds her, saying that it's not like she needs a note from her parents about it.
Julia tries defending herself by saying that it's not as simple as the Protagonist wants it to sound as she still lives with her parents. The Protagonist then remarks that since Ashley can't even recognize Julia, who is her own sister, how happy will Julia's parents be in that case? Julia breaks down and realizes she's screwed up and brings her back home.
Otherwise, the Protagonist can remark that it's a good idea, but Julia realizes it's a terrible idea regardless, as they'll only see that Ashley is well physically - but she's completely gone in terms of mental health.
If you have enslaved Julia - or just didn't go on a date with her, - she will admit to sending Ashley to their parents but will be reluctant in doing so. If you choose to punish her in the scene that follows, you can enslave Ashley, breaking her mind in the process.
Regardless of which route is chosen, Ashley is brought back home by Julia. Some time after, Julia asks the Protagonist for help. This time, she requires the spell that Jane is using to access Mind Dungeons.
Once inside her mind, Jane remarks that it's very shallow - for all she can tell, the Protagonist is already at the core of it. A fight erupts, after which the Protagonist and his/her party emerges victorious.
In the scene that follows, Julia was hoping this would be enough to fix Ashley's mind, but realizes she's being too optimistic. However, she plans on doing everything in her power to make her sister normal again. In other words, she plans on making a whole new mind for Ashley from scratch.
Some time later, the Protagonist is encountered by Julia in the streets, who shows that Ashley has recognized Julia as her little sister - though by no means is she actually "fixed" yet.
The Protagonist can choose to walk away or confront her - regardless, the next scene requires Sarah's mother. She'll explain that Ashley seems to be lacking her Soul, so the Protagonist asks if she's undead or a monster. Sarah's mother explains that's not quite it, but she's not sure where the Soul is either. The Protagonist decides to head into the dungeon in order to find it.
In the dungeon, a few scenes plays out (on floors 12, 13, 14 and 15, in that order). During the floor 15 scene, Ashley faints and is as such removed from the active party. When brought back to the Protagonist's room, Julia asks what in the world has happened to Ashley, causing the Protagonist to admit that s/he has no idea and explains that Ashley just fainted out of the blue, so the Protagonist brought Ashley back.
Alternate Route
If the Protagonist does not have Sarah's mother, simply heading to floor 15 and waiting for a few minutes causes a scene to play out in which Ashley faints.
Ashley Cured
As Julia is crying, Ashley asks Julia to stop poking [Ashley] in [Ashley's] boob with [Julia's] elbow, as it's gonna bruise her. When asked what Ashley remembers, she says she doesn't remember much - just that she lost her mind from the Berserk spell but is happy to be back again. Julia figures she should head on back home, but Ashley remarks she haven't graduated yet - as such, if she went back, their parents would most likely just keep her at home for the rest of her life. Not wanting this, she volunteers to join the team. Julia, in turn, agrees to willingly explore the dungeon with the others - she'd prefer to be with her sister at all times, to make sure she doesn't run off.
Overjoyed that her sister is back, Ashley willingly accepts that the Protagonist might wish to enslave her.
If the Protagonist chooses not to, s/he welcomes Ashley to the team, "for real this time" with Julia also agreeing on entering the dungeon volunteeringly. The Protagonist promises to try and keep them both on the team at the same time, but admits to being unable to promise anything.
Otherwise, the Protagonist can enslave Ashley, causing Julia to ask to be enslaved as well. Ashley jumps on the idea, saying "they can be slave sisters for real!" However, the Protagonist can simply ignore Julia's plea and only enslave Ashley. Julia agrees to tag along in order to keep an eye on her sister, but is somewhat more reluctant in doing so, not wanting her sister to be a slave but she has no options left.
The Protagonist, regardless of if you enslaved Julia or not, remarks that Ashley is "welcome to the Harem, for real this time".
Regardless of route chosen, Ashley's mind is finally free from the Berserk spell and she can finally resume being a regular student in school again.
Julia's Arsenal
Julia's Arsenal is a sub-route in Adventure High, in which she is tired of having a gift only suitable for gathering intel. As such, she asks the Protagonist for assistance in creating various items that will allow her to use new types of spells.
To access this route, Julia must be level 8 or above. Meet her in the forest and speak to her, where she says she's collecting junk. She'll ask the protagonist if they can drop it at the Protagonist's house or if she should drop it in the library. Choosing the former gives an affection boost, while the latter drops her affection.
Regardless of where you dump it, speaking to her again makes her reveal that she's trying to make a device that should allow her to use other kinds of spells, asking how she can hurt enemies using intel. The Protagonist can at this point suggest that she should insult them, giving an affection boost which also lets her start insulting enemies to end fights early. Regardless, Julia will next say that she needs 50 chunks of slime, which is dropped by any slime type enemy. If the Protagonist already has it, it's automatically delivered. Otherwise, collect it and speak to her in the library. Next, head to the dungeon once she's level 10 or above and she'll reveal that her device is complete, unlocking her Slime Shot spell.
The next time the Protagonist encounters Julia is in the library, where she reveals her device is complete - either very shoddy due to having no help, or highly advanced due to help from Brittany. Regardless, it should allow [her] to use spells from different types of spell schools. The Protagonist curiously asks why she won't simply use a wand, to which she explains they're too expensive and only lets her use a specific type of spell school, not all of them like her device does.
Mysterious Book Plotline
After finding out that Julia sent Ashley home - and got her back - causes the start of the Mysterious Book plotline, in which Julia no longer cares to save Ashley's mind. Instead, she wishes to enslave Ashley - and all other women - for the Protagonist. Unless the Protagonist is Rosa (or a gender changed Dan) - then she has plans of her own.
Interestingly enough, despite becoming a slave as a result of the book, she'll confront the Protagonist about requiring her normal personality in order to properly help the Protagonist out - despite the fact that her Slutty personality is her new default one, meaning she should have no issue with being the Protagonist's slave. Whether this is a bug or intentional (or simply not yet updated) is unknown.
If Ashley's mind is fixed, Julia lets Ashley borrow the book to see if it'll affect her as much as it did Julia. If the Protagonist tells Julia to get the book back, Ashley is reluctant in giving it back, not wanting to as she's nearly at the good part. Julia seemingly knows what part she is talking about, but quickly changes her mind and requests the book. Ashley hands it back and Julia says that Ashley isn't completely enslaved yet.
Mysterious Book New Game+
During the Mysterious Book New Game+, the Protagonist can choose to go with Julia instead of Val. While she won't refuse, she only tags along for long enough to confirm what she sensed about the Protagonist: that s/he lacks a gift. Once back in the hallway, Val will ask the Protagonist what magic s/he got, but the Protagonist will explain s/he didn't get any. Val asks Julia to wait for a bit, to which Julia agrees.
After obtaining magic, Julia will remark that the Protagonist's and Val's gift both changed, which surprises her. She ends the conversation with saying she wishes to meet with the Protagonist in the library.
To meet her, you need to have gotten a Secret Note and gone to that class before she'll show up. The scene is slightly different compared to a normal New Game.
Faculty Control Ending
Testimony type: Both.
Julia is capable of providing Drape with testimony depending on the Protagonist's actions. She gives good testimony for the following things:
- If you fixed Ashley's mind, she says that dealing with the Protagonist was a calculated risk that paid off.
She provides bad testimony, for obvious reasons, if you decided to break Ashley's mind.
Slave outfits
Normal
- She has red hair, a plum half-dress, a black ribbon, round glasses, black stockings and a purple top. She's somewhat reserved towards the Protagonist.
Mindless
- She only speaks a few words, wearing the same clothes as her Normal personality.
Obsessed
- Her glasses turns swirly and she acts like a fangirl.
Slutty
- She wears a black small top and a pair of jeans shorts, while her glasses turns into half glasses. She's heavily implying she wishes to date - or fuck - the Protagonist - or anyone else - in this personality. She also loses her ribbon.
Bimbo Form
- She retains her normal outfit but her breasts becomes much larger and she turns blonde. She seems disinterested in reading anymore, using a book to hold up her giant breasts instead.
- This form is only available on the Bimbo World NG+.
Enchantment Levels
Enchanting her clothes gives the following stats:
Level 1
Attack
+2 Power and a remark about it being useless.
Defense
+50 HP and +10 Defense and her thanking you for raising her odds of survival.
Endurance
+35 Stamina and +4 Speed.
Trivia
- Her starting HP is the lowest in the game, possibly because she promised she'd not venture into the dungeon and prefers staying in the library.
- It's flat out stated in the Heroic route, if you change body with her, that she doesn't work out.
- Despite starting with the lowest possible affection towards the Protagonist, she is the current fastest one to raise to 1-heart affection (Crush). This is possible to do in the very first scene when you encounter her, simply by saying "Studying is important" and "You don't have to worry about that from me". Both will increase her affection level by 1 step.
- Julia was the first character to require 0 Proficiency to obtain the first spell in a tree, but she instead needs a minimum level of 10 to access it.
- When Julia asks the Protagonist how she can hurt monsters using intel, the Protagonist can say "Emotionally?". This allows her to cause monsters to flee by insulting them.
- A list of her insults can be found on the transcript page.
- When Julia asks the Protagonist how she can hurt monsters using intel, the Protagonist can say "Emotionally?". This allows her to cause monsters to flee by insulting them.
- During the library scene, the Protagonist remarks that despite claiming always staying indoors, she has a tan on her stomach, implying she enjoys being outside. This is further evidenced by the clothes in her Slutty personality.
- She's infamous for "cheating the system" by making deals to find out about Secret Notes and in return gives information to the one who helped her about various things.
- Drape will punish her in two different ways due to this: either because you struck a deal with her to help her find the notes, or because she helped the Protagonist escape from his dungeon.
- If you have two or more slaves when wanting to go on a date with her, she will tell you she kept track of how many you have enslaved.
- She'll also show she's in reality quite submissive and seems turned on by the thought of becoming the Protagonist's slave as she'll willingly kneel down when ordered to and asks why the Protagonist didn't enslave her, but have others.
- Despite this, she's capable of being your Mistress on the Logical Submissive Route.
- She'll also show she's in reality quite submissive and seems turned on by the thought of becoming the Protagonist's slave as she'll willingly kneel down when ordered to and asks why the Protagonist didn't enslave her, but have others.
- She lives with her parents.
- Despite having green eyes, her eyes are blue in the library scene.
- Due to getting updated artwork in version 0.50, her clothes are now incorrect color in multiple scenes as well (brown instead of plum).
- She's one of three possible characters to choose from the Mysterious Book Plotline New Game +. The others are Val and Sarah.
- To tag with her, choose to go with the brown haired girl.
- She defaults to her Slutty personality in this route, even if you never gave her the book.
- If you give her the book during the Mysterious Book NG+, she will remark that "[the Protagonist] will like her better once she's become the slut she is meant to be."
- Interestingly enough, despite being able to reach one heart affection from the library scene alone in a NG, she can only reach indifferent (angry waves) affection during a NG+ during the library scene, even if you choose all correct options.
- She defaults to her Slutty personality in this route, even if you never gave her the book.
- To tag with her, choose to go with the brown haired girl.
- She's in the same class as the Protagonist, Sarah, Val, Cassandra, Victoria and Molly.
- When having sex with her in her normal personality, she's reading a book called "Kama Sutra" which is widely considered to be the standard work on human sexual behaviour in Sanskrit literature.
- She's one of multiple characters to only have two different slave outfits, with her clothes only changing in her Slutty outfit.
- She has hyperopia (meaning she's far-sighted). In other words, she can't see objects well at short range, but can see them at long range.
