Proficiency

From Adventure High Wiki

Proficiency is a semi-hidden stat in Adventure High.

It's visible from the menu and shows how proficient a character is in a certain type of magic. A single point of Proficiency is enough for a character to obtain a spell in that tree. Note that this does not mean how strong the spells are - that is reflected by the Power stat. Proficiency just means how proficient that character is, with more proficiency unlocking higher tiered spells.

Generally, high tier spells gives more Proficiency compared to a low tier spell. So, for example, the Protagonist's Suppression spell gives five Proficiency points in the Debilitating tree, while Confuse gives ten.

If a character is lacking a certain type of spell naturally, she or he must attend a Secret Notes class in order to unlock that type of spell - there are other ways as well, but they are quite rare.

Characters who already has that type of spell unlocked may still attend the class, thus getting a boost in their Proficiency with that type, making it easier to obtain new spells in that tree.

Using spells from the Menu is one way to increase Proficency without risking going into a battle. However, it does not increase if you use it during a scene.

To see how much proficiency a character has in a specific tree, simply enter the menu and click on the character. At the bottom of the screen, that characters various stats are listed.

Notes

  • Levels has nothing to do with unlocking spells. You can be level 1/7/20/whatever default level a character has and STILL unlock all spells as long as you have the Proficiency for it.
