This is the route you'll be following if you wish to have the Protagonist save everyone from Drape's control.
The game defaults to this route on a New Game.
Note that this is just a general outline for the route. It is not a walkthrough.
Waking Up
The Protagonist wakes up from what can only be assumed to be a strange dream from an unknown being called ???.
The Protagonist's mother tells him/her that s/he will run late, causing the Protagonist to curse the disembodied voice.
Hurrying out, s/he meets with Val in the streets. Val, like the Protagonist, has for some reason slept in. Which, according to the Protagonist, normally never happens.
Val remarks that it's weird and a short conversation in which they discuss the fact that the Protagonist was a day too young to enroll in school last year happens. Shortly after, they reach the School.
At School
Once at School, Drape meets with them. He remarks that he hopes they'll stop being late in the future or he'll have to take some corrective measures, hinting at his status as the game's antagonist.
Ms. Rack appears shortly after, saving you from Drape's wrath. She asks him if he's done, to which he replies that "[He] is, for now".
The Protagonist and Val heads into school and is taught how the school works and that she's the Physical magic teacher, causing a student to ask if her boobs are a result of physical magic as well. Another student remarks that [the student] hopes that [Ms. Rack] will teach it to all the girls. Ms Rack gets visibly irritated at this comment, saying she'll probably send "the class clowns" to the school nurse. At the end of the class, they're paired into groups of two with an assignment - to find the first floor Sigil in order to jump start their magic in case they don't have it already. Val approaches the Protagonist and asks if they should team up. Whether you want to or not, you still go into the dungeon together.
The Dungeon
In the dungeon, Val and the Protagonist talk for a short bit before starting to explore the place.
Upon touching the Sigil, the Protagonist asks how come there's no monsters down there. Val says that it's due to the Sigil acting as a barrier, holding the monsters back. Confused, the Protagonist asks how she knows this, to which she says she's not sure - "it just feels pushy," she explains.
The Protagonist shrug it off and then touch the Sigil, but doesn't feel anything. Val gets shocked at this and touches it herself, saying "[she] feels as if [she] can do anything," but quickly says that it's no big deal and that she can use some elemental magic. The Protagonist unimpressly remarks "...Congrats," causing Val to tell him/her to touch the Sigil again. The Protagonist does so, causing him/her to feel "Control". The Protagonist is confused as to what this kind of magic is, wondering if simply "Control" can be a gift.
Val asks what kind of magic the Protagonist obtained, to which the Protagonist says it's somewhat vague. Val recommends testing it out.
If you choose to use it on her, she'll eventually become a slave, locking you out from the rest of the plotline. However, you can stop before this happens, making you stay on the Heroic Route.
Otherwise, you can ask if she meant on a monster. She remarks that she planned on using it on herself, but agrees to use it on a monster regardless.
A monster appears out of the blue, causing a short fight to break out. After the fight, the Protagonist asks if Val is fine. She says that she is and wonder if the Protagonist will go evil mind controller on her. The Protagonist replies with "Probably not?" and asks if she has a special reason for asking this. She quickly dismisses it and they head on home.
Back Home
Back home, Val remarks that the Protagonist has a Save Crystal. The Protagonist asks what it is and she explains it's basically a savepoint. The Protagonist asks how come s/he has one, but Val has no idea either.
Once the discussion is done, they head back to school again.
School Again
Back at school, they attend three classes: Drape's, Dr. Tiff's and Jane's.
(Note: There's no chronological way to view those classes; only Jane's is required to advance into the dungeon, though attending both Dr. Tiff's and Drape's unlocks Sarah.)
Drape's Class
In Drape's class, Drape explains the basics of Debilitating magic and that if anyone doesn't have it, they're given a few minutes to join a party that has that kind of spell. The Protagonist, whether you used his/her spell on Val or not, gets worried about people freaking out about his/her spell. Val, as such, says she has one. No one seems to listen, but Sarah soon approaches and decides to join their team. They introduce themselves to each other and Sarah remarks that her last partner was lucky to have [Sarah] around as long as [Sarah] was.
Once done, Drape starts talking and says enough time has passed. Drape explains that a simple to use debilitating spell is often more useful than simply brute force. Sarah mumbles that it won't matter if she can kill it in one shot anyway, causing Drape to put a curse on her, causing her unable to move her arms.
Dr. Tiff's Class
In Dr. Tiff's class, she begins by yelling at two students, saying she doesn't care what kind of Rack they were hit by and that they should instead stay in bed, and that she has a class to attend.
She explains the basics of Support magic, saying how she loves helping wounded people and that it's part of the reason she became a nurse to begin with.
Everyone in class is slightly scared of her due to her angry personality but none dare to confront her about it. Near the end of the class, she asks for the class to excuse her for a moment - the students from earlier has apparently tried to escape, but Dr. Tiff caught them in the act. The Protagonist remarks that Dr. Tiff seems to have some anger issues, causing Val to ask a favor of the Protagonist: to remind her not visit Dr. Tiff if she gets hurt.
Jane's Class
Jane introduces her as Ms. Smith, but asks them to just call her "Jane". She gives a rundown about Destructive magic, saying how it hits harder than Physical magic, but Physical magic might help you bypass magical defenses.
She knows how eager the students must be to try out their newfound magic abilites so she allows them to freely roam the dungeon, though she warns them that it's not a cake walk and, if they feel worried, they should hurry up and escape.
After the classes are complete, the Protagonist meets with Val and Sarah in the hallway.
Val is unlocked by simply visiting Drape's class.
Val asks how the Protagonist is, causing him/her to either say that Val's small talk could use some work (+Affection) or that s/he is out to meet new friends (-Affection). If the former happens, Val teases the Protagonist for a bit before leaving. If the latter is chosen, she's shocked (and visibly hurt), excusing herself as she has to leave. This also causes her to drop 1 level of Affection. You can also attempt to enslave her, but failing to do so causes her to run off - again losing some Affection but unlocking a new enemy in her Mind. This will not shift you to the Tempted Hero path. Good for you!
Sarah is unlocked by visiting both Drape's and Dr. Tiff's classes in any order.
Sarah, meanwhile, has issue with Drape's curse, making her unable to move her arms properly. The Protagonist can either enslave her, shifting you to Tempted Hero/Student Control or you can heal her using Boost.
If you enslave her, she's your slave and you're no longer on this path. Stop reading.
If you didn't enslave her, she thanks you (and you gain a small Affection boost) and admits that she has no supportive spells of her own, as nearly all her spells are fire elemental, thus a bad idea to use on herself.
Choosing not to heal her causes her to get pissed at you and she'll go get help by Dr. Tiff instead. However, she'll still meet with you in the streets, calling the Protagonist an "asshole". The Protagonist asks what's with her, causing her to admit she visited Dr. Tiff for help. You're free to enslave her during this scene as long as Val is your slave (or not present). Again, this shifts you to the Tempted Hero path.
Choosing not to enslave her causes her to be extremely pissed at the Protagonist and says s/he is on thin ice before leaving. The Protagonist says nothing further about it.
The New Val
Whether or not Sarah and Val hates the Protagonist, exploring the dungeon until floor four and then heading back to school causes Val to talk to the Protagonist (whether you tried to enslave her and failed or not). The Protagonist remarks that her clothes are different, but she says it's nothing special and that it was her own idea.
The Protagonist, clearly not believing this, says that s/he must leave. Val merely replies with "Good bye, then". Heading to Dr. Tiff's room, the Protagonist says that there's something off about Val. Dr. Tiff asks what's wrong, causing the Protagonist to say that her clothes are weird as well as her manner of speaking, claiming as if she's just reciting a script. Dr. Tiff gets pissed, saying that she'll punish the Protagonist if she's bothered over a wardrobe change, but Val soon proves the Protagonist to be right. Dr. Tiff gets pissed upon realizing that she's been cursed, but can't fix her as she doesn't know what's wrong with her. The Protagonist is then sent out from the room, despite the Protagonist's pleas.
Back in the hallway, the Protagonist runs into Jane, who asks how [Val] is doing. Jane admits to seeing the Protagonist and Val enter Dr. Tiff's room and says she wants to help the Protagonist. The Protagonist agrees, seeing no other way of saving her. Jane remarks that the Protagonist must be careful and suggest bringing a friend along. The Protagonist replies that s/he has someone in mind.
After adding Sarah to the party, speak to Jane again. She'll ask if you're ready, to which the Protagonist says they are. They head to Dr. Tiff's room, causing Dr. Tiff to remark that [she] hopes that [the Protagonist] didn't get another girl enslaved already. The Protagonist says that's not the case and that they want to help. Dr. Tiff says that if she can't fix it, she don't want students to mess with it. Sarah pleads, saying they just want to help. Dr. Tiff finally agrees and they enter Valerie's Mind by having Jane use a spell to let them enter her mind to fix whatever's messing it up.
Valerie's Mind
Sarah instantly remarks that she can't see anything in there. Jane contacts them by using her spell, saying she has to remain on the outside. They ask what they're supposed to do, causing Jane to tell them to find whatever the curse is and fix it. They head on deeper into her mind, soon reaching what's causing it to begin with.
The Protagonist remarks that the monster looks like the monster on the first floor, causing Jane to say there's no monsters there. The Protagonist explains that there was and that they defeated it. Jane is silent, seemingly believing the Protagonist without saying anything further about it. A boss fight happens, after which the Protagonist and Sarah wins. The Protagonist is told to use a spell on Val to remove Drape's curse.
The options are Suppression (Slave), Confusion (permanent Bimbo), Grapple (permanent Goth), Charm (lover) or Boost (nothing). Using anything but Boost places you on the Tempted Hero path.
After using whatever spell they settled for, they're brought outside. Val thanks them for saving her (though her personality is depending on what spell you used. If you didn't use Boost, stop reading).
Dr. Tiff asks if they're done, causing the others to say that they are. They head to Ms. Rack's room and explain what happens. Ms. Rack says she promises to speak with Drape, but he has tenure that year, so it's unlikely he'll get fired. Regardless, they thank her.
The Cursed Sarah
Advancing further into the dungeon and finding more Secret Notes, causes undue fatigue on the Protagonist and the others. They head back outside to rest on regular intervals, but soon, Sarah shows up and remarks that the Protagonist hasn't been in Drape's classes as of late. The Protagonist asks why s/he should go there, with what Drape did to Val. Sarah explains that good students attend all classes, causing the Protagonist to realize that Sarah must be under his influence as well.
Knowing that the only person who can help them is Jane, the Protagonist lies to Sarah and says that Jane's class is coming up. Sarah remarks that her class isn't for some time yet, causing the Protagonist to say that s/he found a Secret Note about a new class. Sarah thanks the Protagonist for deciding to bring her in that case.
Heading to Jane's classroom, Sarah remarks she can't see the any other students. Jane then walks in and asks why they came so early to her class, causing the Protagonist to explain what happened again.
Jane decides to help the Protagonist out and s/he along with a team of up to two other people enters Sarah's Mind in order to fix it.
Sarah's Mind
Once inside, everything looks like it's on fire - the walls, the floor, the enemies... Everything. Jane explains that other than the monsters, they're not in any way threatened for the time being.
However, the Protagonist still wants them to finish it up as soon as possible, before the heat becomes too much.
Reaching the boss in the second room causes Sarah to tell them to escape and that "It" is coming. When asked what's coming, she hides under the bed and refuses to come out, causing the Protagonist to remark "Great, she's hiding under the bed..." as a boss fight starts.
Defeating it causes Sarah to come back out and you're given the same options as in Val's mind.
Suppression makes her your slave.
Confuse makes her develop her Needy personality.
Grapple makes her be Tough Sarah at all times.
Charm makes her fall in love with you, regardless of other possible love interests you have at the time - this also makes her possible to date as Rosa (Sarah is straight, so charming her is the only option for Rosa to date her).
Boost fixes her mind and gives her +50 max HP.
If Val is brought when using Boost, Val asks why her body wasn't improved when Sarah's was. Jane explains that they're out of time - Jane's class is about to start, so she pulls them out of Sarah's mind.
When they're back outside, a short scene happens and Jane explains she wishes to help the Protagonist develop his/her magic further. The Protagonist, somewhat reluctantly, agrees to at least think about it. Jane says she'll be there for when s/he makes up his/her mind.
The Protagonist attends two of those classes before heading back to Drape's classroom.
Trap Door
Heading to Drape's classroom causes Drape to confront the Protagonist once both Val and Sarah are freed.
You can either ask what Drape is talking about or say that he cursed them. Regardless of choice, the Protagonist is dropped into a trap door which has no handle from the other side. Drape tells him/her to be careful as he doesn't want the Protagonist to hurt him/herself, causing the Protagonist to sarcastically remark that "dropping people down a trap door is totally safe". Drape leaves to begin using his spell to change the Protagonist to his liking.
If Val and Sarah are both your friends, Val says she remembers where she was dropped into the hole. Sarah is surprised, saying she has no recollection of it. Val remarks that she doesn't want to talk about it and instead asks Sarah to open the door. Sarah does as asked and the Protagonist is saved.
Otherwise, if you have brought enough Secret Notes to Julia, she'll contact Sarah and ask Sarah for assistance in getting the Protagonist out. Sarah, again, destroys the door and they hurry away.
If neither of the criteria are fulfilled, the Protagonist tries - in vain - to escape, only to become the same mindless slave that Drape made Val and Sarah. This leads to a Bad Ending and you can simply reload your latest save.
Sarah's Resolve: Save the Protagonist
If Sarah decided to drop out of school, when she finds out that the Protagonist was trapped by Drape, she gets worried and decides to go back in order to save him/her. The Protagonist remarks that s/he thought that Sarah dropped out, but Sarah explains that she felt she should come back. She then re-joins the party and is possible to add in as normal.
The New Slave: Julia
After escaping, whether you've helped Julia with the Secret Notes or not, head to the library.
She will scold you and remark that she normally she doesn't have to close the door behind you.
The Protagonist asks what's wrong and she explains that she's been ordered to keep the Protagonist there until Drape returns. The Protagonist realizes that she's been cursed as well and as such has two options: either push past her or subdue her. This makes two different routes play out.
Push Past Her
If you choose to push past her, she will say she's unable to physically keep you in the room. The Protagonist heads to Jane's room and lets her know that the Protagonist has found another slave. Jane hurries with the Protagonist to the library.
Once there, Jane uses her spell again the Protagonist enter Julia's mind. Which, in the Protagonist's own words, is a library, which somehow does not surprise him/her.
Heading to the far right of the room, the floor is covered in dungeon tiles and lava. To advance further, there's no Sigil. Instead, it's based of coordinates. To find the next scene, simply head all the way to the right and start heading north. Once you've passed the correct coordinates, simply wait for a few seconds and the scene will trigger.
Julia will find you and tell you to hurry up with dealing with her boss but also not take too much note of whatever happens in there. The Protagonist remarks that everything else seems to be somewhat related, but Julia annoyedly says that "Not. Everything. Has to be."
After defeating one of the two bosses in her mind, Julia forcefully pushes you back out.
Julia tells the Protagonist to run away and not to trust anyone, including Jane, as they will all be Drape's slaves soon.
If the Protagonist brought one or more people with him/her to fix Julia's mind, Julia will request that the others stay in order to hold off Drape to buy the Protagonist time to escape.
If Ashley is one of the people brought, Julia will apologize to her sister and say that she wished she could help Ashley some other way. Ashley remarks that she doesn't really get what Julia's talking about but says "Thanks?" anyway.
The Protagonist turns around and starts running out, but is soon out of breath.
If the Protagonist is Dan, he will grab his chest and be confused. Looking down, he will realize he now has breasts and figures out that he's in Julia's body.
If the Protagonist is Rosa, she will grab her chest but notice that the material is softer than her normal clothes. She'll notice that the clothes are Julia's and realize what has happeened.
In both cases, the Protagonist wonders if it'd kill Julia to work out some more.
Once in Julia's body, head to Dr. Tiff's room and a scene will occur. Dr. Tiff will assume you're Julia but the Protagonist explains that s/he's in Julia's body. Dr. Tiff wonders what in the world has happened and the Protagonist can either tell her everything or the minimum amount needed.
Telling her everything causes a Bad End to trigger, in which the Protagonist explains it all to Dr. Tiff, who tries confronting Drape along with Ms. Rack. However, Ms. Rack has already been put under Drape's control by this point, causing Drape to curse the Protagonist and become his slave as well.
If you tell her only the minimum amount needed, Dr. Tiff gets pissed and sends you back to your own body. Jane and whatever other character/s you brought with you will be cursed by Drape. The Protagonist feigns being Julia, who luckily didn't spill her beans about where she was.
The Protagonist now has to escape from the library, but realizes that the other slave/s Drape left in there will likely stop him/her.
To escape, the Protagonist has to use the Suppression or Confusion spells. In case of the former, both will count as your slaves for the time being, but NOT shift you towards the Tempted Hero path. In case of the latter, the Protagonist escapes, but the other character/s are not possible to add to your party again because they still count as if they're under Drape's control.
Note that you cannot use Suppression if the party members combined are a higher level than the Protagonist, you can only use Confuse in this case (e.g if the Protagonist is level 15 and you brought Reese and Molly (level 27 total), Suppression will fail).
Should the Protagonist, while in Julia's body, try and fight Drape by heading back into the library, ??? will warn the Protagonist about it being a terrible idea, to the point s/he'll bring up Julia's spell menu.
If you have fought the Bear Claw when tagging along with Sarah, Drape's defenses are described as if it makes that monster's defenses look like a thin sheet of paper.
If you haven't, the voice says his defenses are stronger than anything you'd have seen in your worst nightmares, including the dungeon and mind dungeons.
Should you continue to pushing to attack Drape, he will simply enslave you and you're sent back to the hallway before you were stupid enough to attack him.
Subdue Her
Should the Protagonist choose to subdue her, simply use Suppression, Confusion or Shrink on her. Head back to Jane's room and a scene plays out in which you're sent into Julia's Mind.
Simply head all the way to the right and a bit north as it's coordinate based rather than having a sigil to advance the next scene.
Once the next scene triggers, Julia will find the Protagonist and tell him/her to hurry up and beat whatever monster is in her mind before getting out. The Protagonist remarks that everything else seems to have some relation to other things, but Julia replies that "Not. Everything. Has to be," before once again urging the Protagonist to hurry it up.
After defeating one of the two bosses in her mind, Julia throws you out of her mind.
Once you do, Drape comes in but realizes that the Protagonist and Jane are both fine, thus decides to leave instead.
The Protagonist remarks that they should get Drape fired at this point, but Jane and Julia explains that, due to him having tenure, he can't be fired as it's a School tradition.
The Protagonist remarks that it's ridicolous but Julia explains that it's also because he's old enough to be alive before the use of magic happened to begin with, which is something he's also credited for.
Should the Protagonist decide to subdue Julia, then head home and then back to school, a scene plays out in which a student is trying to trash talk the Protagonist. Val, Sarah and Julia all vouch for the Protagonist, but the new mysterious student doesn't seem to care about it. Eventually, Jane appears and causes the crowd to disperse.
That's all that on this route as of version 0.62.
