Transcript for the Heroic Route in Adventure High.

This transcript is from when you've encountered Val in the hallway once she's been enslaved by Drape until you've completed Sarah's mind and either escaped or reached the bad ending (which is, as of version 0.34, as far as you can go).

For how it all began, refer to the intro transcript.

Strange Val

Val: Val: Hello, [Protagonist], how are you doing today?

Protagonist: Hey. Um... What is with the new outfit?

Val: Oh, my old outfit was inappropriate, so I changed.

Protagonist: How was it inappropriate?

Val: I was showing far too much skin, obviously.

Protagonist: Why do you think that? There is no dress code. Hell, your aunt shows more skin than you did!

Val: I... Its... Its just not appropriate.

Protagonist: That isn't answering my question. Why do you think that?

Val: I... It was my idea. I decided to be a better student.

Protagonist: I'm not buying it...

Val: If you do not believe me, that is not my problem.

Protagonist: It is my problem. As your friend, this seems fishy.

Val: There is nothing fishy. It was my idea. This was my desicion.

Protagonist: ...Okay... I'm just going to back away slowly.

Val: Goodbye then.

Meeting Dr. Tiff

Protagonist: Dr. Tiff? I need you to take a look at my friend.

Val: Hey! I told you there is nothing wrong with me!

Protagonist: I'll believe it when I have you checked out.

Dr. Tiff: What exactly is wrong with your friend?

Protagonist: She's suddenly started dressing like this and can't explain why.

Val: I told you. It was my idea. This was my decision.

Protagonist: See? She just says that. Literally word for word like a script.

Dr. Tiff: I swear if you are wasting my time over a wardrobe change...

Val: S/He is wasting your time. This is my idea. It was my decision.

Protagonist: See what I mean? Word. For. Word.

Dr. Tiff: Alright, that does seem strange. Give me a moment. Hmm...

Dr. Tiff: Grrr...

Protagonist: What is it?

Dr. Tiff: I can't break the curse on her.

Protagonist: So there is something wrong with her?

Val: I am not cursed. This is my idea. It was my decision.

Dr. Tiff: SHUT UP!!

Val: OW!! STOP PULLING MY EAR!!

Dr. Tiff: Stop trying to talk your way out of treatment!!

Protagonist: So.. you can help her?

Dr. Tiff: No. But I'm not letting her go anywhere until I can.

Protagonist: Um.. But she's a part of my party...

Dr. Tiff: YOU ARE NOT TAKING A CURSED STUDENT INTO THE DUNGEON!!

Protagonist: Ack! Yes okay, I'll leave her with you!

Dr. Tiff: Good. I will let you know if I make any progress with her.

(Scene change: Hallway - the game advances at once without you being able to do anything)

Jane: Hey, how is your friend doing?

Protagonist: What?

Jane: You went into Dr. Tiff's room with someone, and came out alone.

Protagonist: You were just standing here watching?

Jane: I had a... feeling.

Protagonist: I see... Well, I'm in a bit of a hurry.

Jane: You are going to talk to Mr. Drape, right?

Protagonist: Okay, seriously how do you know that??

Jane: If Dr. Tiff could not help her, it must be a curse.

Protagonist: ...Yeah. He knows more about curses, so...

Jane: He put the curse on her.

Protagonist: What!?

Jane: She is dressed exactly as he dresses. It is not a coincidence.

Protagonist: Now I really need to see him.

Jane: Good idea. Then you can get a new taste in clothing too.

Protagonist: But.. He..

Jane: He has no need to worry about getting into trouble. He got his tenure this year. He can't lose his job over something like this.

Protagonist: He can't just get away with cursing my friend!

Jane: You can get yourself cursed too, or you can help your friend.

Protagonist: ...How?

Jane: Come to my class later, I'll try to come up with a way for you to help your friend overcome her curse.

Protagonist: So, you can help her?

Jane: I will see what I can come up with. Just don't do anything stupid before I have an answer for you.

Protagonist: Um... Thanks...

Jane's Plan

Jane: So, are you ready to help your friend?

Protagonist: Yeah. Have you come up with something?

Jane: If you can just cure her, Drape will simply curse her again the next time he sees her without her uniform.

Protagonist: I guess that's always a risk. We can avoid his class.

Jane: Not attending his class suddenly would also get his attention.

Protagonist: What are you suggesting I do? Leave her the way she is?

Jane: Of course not. What we need to do is give her immunity to his curses.

Protagonist: How do we do that?

Jane: You are going to have let me project you into your friends mind. From there, you will be able to remove the curse.

Protagonist: Don't you specialize in Destructive magic, though?

Jane: Do you only know spells from a single school of magic?

Protagonist: No...

Jane: Good. You should know that it is best to branch out first before what deciding what school of magic you want to specialize in.

Protagonist: I'll keep that in mind.

Jane: I'm glad to hear it. Now, entering someone's mind directly is dangerous, and I won't be able to protect you. So, you should bring somebody that you trust with you when you visit your friend.

Protagonist: I think I know someone who can help.

Jane: When you are ready, go visit your friend. When you touch her forehead you and anyone you are in physical contact with will be pulled into her mind. Once you are in, I'll tell you more.

Entering Val's Mind

Dr. Tiff: Don't tell me yo ugot another girl cursed already.

Protagonist: What? No, she's here to help.

Dr. Tiff: Help with what, exactly?

Protagonist: We're going to curse Val's curse.

Dr. Tiff: If I cannot cure her yet, I am not letting a couple of students start throwing random spells at her.

Protagonist: It's not random! This was Jane's idea.

Dr. Tiff: Oh, really now? Sure. I guess anyone can be a doctor right?

Sarah: We just want to help!

Dr. Tiff: Fine. Go try Jane's plan, but if anything goes wrong, you two are going to have to learn a new way of eating!

Protagonist: T-Thanks... I... guess...

Dr. Tiff: Don't make me regret this.

Protagonist: Alright.. Sarah, hold my hand.

Sarah: Okay..

Protagonist: Here goes nothing...

(Scene change: inside Val's mind)

Sarah: What is going on? I can't see anything!

Jane: You are entering Val's mind.

Protagonist: Jane? Where are you?

Jane: I am channeling the spell, my voice is all that can reach you.

Sarah: Why can't we see anything? There is nothing but purple blobs floating everywhere.

Jane: Purple is probably Val's favorite color. The inside of a person's mind is.. strange at times. I kind of envy you, I can't enter anyone's mind since I need to channel the spell.

Protagonist: So what should we do now?

Jane: Soon, you will reach a stable part of her mind. When you do, you will need to search for a pulsing sigil. That will lead you deeper into Val's mind.

Sarah: Then what do we do?

Jane: Just keep exploring. Somewhere deep in her mind is her true self, guarded by the manifestation of her curse. Defeat the curse and speak to her.

Protagonist: That sounds simple enough.

Jane: Don't get cocky, you will probably have to fight aspects of her mind.

Protagonist: What? Why? We're here to help her!

Jane: She does not know that. To her mind, you are as much an invader as the curse is. Her mind will attack you until you can calm her.

Sarah: Will fighting back hurt her?

Jane: It will weaker her mental defenses, but it won't hurt her. Not any more than the curse already has anyway.

Protagonist: I guess we won't have much of a choice if we want to reach her. Let's go.

Encountering the Boss

Protagonist: I think I see it. It... It looks like that Bomb monster from the first floor of the dungeon.

Jane: What are you talking about? There are no monsters on the first floor.

Protagonist: There was! We... got turned around on our first trip into the dungeon and got attacked by this thing.

Jane: ...

Sarah: Let's just burn this thing and get out of here!

Protagonist: Right. We can ask questions later.
