Haven't checked more subtle parts though because cryptic etc. The Charm checks are a mess and in tons of files but can confirm most plot events won't proc if affection (which becomes hidden) isn't high enough. Worst affection drops to my knowledge is Cassandra during the Cowssandra "willing" route, even if you were trying to be as nice as possible to her during the process, she'll go down to -95 and you'll need a good bunch of roses.) |

Affection is a semi-hidden stat in Adventure High and one of the more obvious ones. The other one is the Trust stat. It shows what a person thinks of the Protagonist.
To tell what affection the character is currently at, when talking, check the small box next to the character's name. Having them Charmed won't let you know their true affection level, though you can roughly guess if you can offer them Red Roses (negative affection) and Flirt (different lines play out).

Increasing affection |

Julia is the currently easiest one to raise from her initial affection to Crush level, given how you can do it in a single conversation. When you first meet her in the library, tell her that 'studying is important'. She's now at angry waves. Next, tell her that she won't have to worry about foul play from you. She is now at one heart. |
Trivia
- The Flirt spell is affected by the target's affection towards the Protagonist. The higher affection, the more it recovers. At 3 hearts affection or above, both the Protagonist and the one healed will recover HP, with the Protagonist recovering a lower amount.
- As of version 0.47, bubbles were added when picking certain dialogue options, showing if you got an increase or decrease in affection. For affection, the bubbles are red.
- Derrick and Angie are the only known characters you cannot use Love Potions on, as they're immune to the effects of the items they sell.
