Angie

From Adventure High Wiki

"You look like a hobo. The school does nothing for you." - Angie

Angie is Derrick's mother and is the owner of the Item Shop.

She holds no qualms in using Molly to run the store for her, for free to boot.

When she finds out that Molly has been giving the Protagonist free items, she has Molly fired and has Derrick instead work in the Item Shop for her.

Angie has a fairly obvious dislike towards the fact that Derrick attends school and wishes for him to get kicked out of school, instead focusing on working in the store.

She gives him an ultimatum: either drop out by himself in a week, or she's getting him expelled. Derrick, realizing he has little say in the matter, agrees to it.

If the Protagonist has enslaved Jane, the Protagonist can ask Jane for help. Jane in turn suggests they should just enslave Angie - something that has been a fantasy of Jane's for some time.

Enslaving Angie

To enslave Angie, you must get Molly fired. After talking to her at the Lake, head to the school and watch a scene in which she threatens to have Derrick expelled if he doesn't drop out within a week. Speak to Derrick, then head inside the school and speak to him again.

During this scene, make sure you try to talk him out of dropping out - do NOT ignore him. After you're done, speak to Jane, who will help you set up a meeting with Angie. During the scene that follows, you can either Charm her (do note that this does NOT count as enslavement), cast Conversion: Speed (she won't count as your slave, but it's implied you will get under-the-table goods if you do) or simply flatout enslave her by casting Suppression.

Congratulations, you've helped Jane fulfill her fantasy of enslaving a student's mother for you.

Angie Stars In...

Angie plays a major role in the following routes:

  • Booking Angie, in which the Protagonist makes her read the Mysterious Book.

Faculty Control Ending

If you brought her to this ending, she can provide the Protagonist with some testimony.

Testimony type: Bad/Unknown.

If you enslaved both her and Derrick, despite it being positive sounding testimony, Val loses some trust, as she doesn't like the phrasing. As such, her testimony is bad.

It's unknown what her testimony is if you haven't enslaved her son, since there's no visible trust bubble. It's unknown if this is a bug or not.

Despite the Protagonist probably having enslaved everyone in the town, she can't accept that the Protagonist enslaved a family. Yeah, Val's logic is interesting like that, especially since you have enslaved her aunt and she doesn't give a shit.

Giving Angie the Book

When getting help from Jane to enslave her, cast Conversion: Speed instead to make her agree on what you tell her. Speak to her again in the store and choose to hand her the book from the menu. Let her keep the book and then come back to a scene in which she's reading the book, before showing the book to Molly.

The Slave Swap

If Kate "works" at the item shop and the Protagonist chose to cast Conversion: Speed on Angie, it becomes possible to interact with Kate in the back room. Angie explains that she doesn't want Kate to be alone and proposes a deal: the Protagonist gets Kate, who Angie has no use for, and Angie gets Molly back as a slave. Agreeing to the swap causes this to happen, making Kate a playable character while Molly is no longer one.

Freeing Angie

Unlike other characters, if brought to Dr. Tiff, Angie cannot be freed. The reason for this is that she cannot free Angie in good conscience, stating that Angie's done so many horrible things, the Protagonist looks good next to her.

Slave outfits

Normal

  • She wears a black dress with a pearl necklace and some bracelets around her right arm, along with multiple earrings. She has a very bitchy and manipulative attitude. Her hair is in a hairbun.

Mindless

  • She wears the same outfit as in normal, her eyes turns blank and she only says a few words.

Whore

  • She lets out her hair, her dress changes into a corset, she loses some of her earrings and is very obviously out to fuck either the Protagonist or anyone the Protagonist orders her to.

Youthful

  • She gets visibly younger, her dress is replaced by a blue suit including a skirt, she has a white undershirt and she has no accessories.

Trivia

  • Despite being referred to by her last name by Molly in the Item Shop at one point, she didn't make a physical appearance until version 0.45.
    • She was added (physically) in version 0.45, became possible to enslave in 0.46 and got different personalities (including Play With scenes) in version 0.47.
  • She's the first living parent in the game to make a physical appearance that you can also enslave.
  • Including her son, there's only four other people with a confirmed first and last name in the game for a total of six.
  • During the Redemption route, due to all the shit that she has done over the years, it is impossible to release her, making her the first character to not be possible to release despite having a scene for it.
    • The reason for this is because Dr. Tiff says she cannot do so in good faith.
