"I KNOW! IT'S WEIRD! Anyways! I was hoping you didn't get too far ahead of me. I wanted us to go together."
Valerie the Elusive Mage
Valerie - or Val for short - is the Protagonist's childhood friend, a playable character in Adventure High, as well as the first member to join your party during a New Game.
She starts with a 1 heart Affection for the Protagonist - regardless of gender - implying she's bisexual. She's also very difficult to decrease to lowest possible affection.
The earliest way you can do so is:
During class, tell her you want to go with someone else at all times. She should now be at Angry Waves affection. Once done, head to the Dungeon and choose the second option ("Let's be careful").
Do NOT enslave her, though you're free to try. She'll go back up (briefly) to 1 heart affection.
Once back in school, tell her you're trying to make new friends and right after, attempt to use Suppression on her. She'll now be at the lowest possible affection towards the Protagonist. Worth it.
She uses elemental magic and has as of version 0.48 fourteen spells. One of them is psuedo-hidden.
Val is initially the only way for the player to deal damage as the Protagonist lacks damaging spells. Upon obtaining her magic, she describes it as "being able to use some elemental magic".
She seems to be quite selfish in regards towards the Protagonist, to the point she'll get jealous - or flat out mad - if the Protagonist remarks that s/he wishes to make some new friends.
Despite this, she'll give up her own magic in order to help the Protagonist gain magic as she can't stand to see the Protagonist's one dream go up in smoke. However, she still remarks that she considers herself a failure due to being able to mess up when she's told to transform Ms. Rack into a bimbo.
During the Bimbo World NG+, she tells Molly to wait for them in town. Once she gives magic to the Protagonist again, Molly will ask what happened. Val then instantly defends herself by saying "it's something only a close friend could solve". The Protagonist won't comment on her actions, possibly due to being overwhelmed by the fact that s/he now can use magic.
Molly gets somewhat hurt by this remark but says nothing more about it, though she sticks with the Protagonist.
During the Mysterious Book NG+, if you tag with Julia instead of Val, upon coming back to the school, Val will give magic to the Protagonist. Julia will remark that both the Protagonist's and Val's gift has changed, though she has no idea how it could have happened. She then heads back to the Library.
Enslaving Val
The very first chance you have to do so is right at the start of the game. Simply choose to use your spell on her three times, then choose to keep her like that. She's now your slave.
Another chance is in the school hallway. Cast Confuse followed by Suppression and she'll become your slave.
One thing you can do is, during the scene in the streets where she complains about leg warmers being bought, simply cast Grapple and she'll become your slave after a short scene.
You can also do so by having Sarah enslaved and in her Eager to Please form. Grab the third floor note and you can either start Val's route to become a willing slave, or you can just flatout enslave her like that.
A more evil way of doing that is on the Heroic Route, assuming you had no other slaves. After defeating the boss in her mind, cast Suppression on her and she'll count as your slave.
If you're hellbent on getting all of the slaves, all you have to is to start the Redemption route. Enslave Dr. Tiff and, when speaking to Val, simply enslave her in the hallway again by casting Confuse. After taking her to your room, you can just let the scene play out, and she is Suppressed again.
If you don't want to enslave her like that, you can speak to Dr. Tiff, ask her to elaborate, then talk to Ms. Rack and have Ms. Rack help you enslave her again.
Saving Val's Mind
During the Heroic Plotline, the Protagonist has to enter Val's Mind to save her from Drape.
If Val tags along when saving Sarah's Mind and you use Boost on Sarah, Val will get pissed that Sarah's body gets an improvement, but not hers, further evidencing her jealousy.
Bimbo World New Game +
During this New Game+, the Protagonist runs into Val, who is blonde and has larger boobs - meaning she is very much so a bimbo. If Sarah is picked during class, Val will remark that they're teamed up "again". When the Protagonist asks what she means by "again," she quickly says that she meant that it's like usual and suggests they check out the Sigil.
If Molly is picked, Val will drop one level of Affection and, upon finding out that the Protagonist is done with his/her initial run into the Dungeon, she'll ask what s/he got as magic. When she finds out that the Protagonist didn't get any, she asks Molly to wait and brings the Protagonist with her to Ms. Rack's room.
In secret, Val gives the Protagonist magic and they head back into the hallway and meet with Molly. When Molly asks if everything is fine, Val claims that "it was something only a close friend could solve," causing Molly to get visibly hurt.
If you continue down the Bimbo World route as Dan while on the Bimbo World route, you can permanently make Val and Ms. Rack into bimbos, without being able to change them to other forms again.
Mysterious Book New Game +
During this New Game+, the Protagonist runs into Val as if it was a normal New Game. However, the Protagonist remarks that it feels like this has happened once before. The Protagonist is confused about it but doesn't say anything more about it.
In class, the Protagonist can either team with Val, try to team up with Sarah - who will refuse as she's tagging with Cassandra - or with Julia, who already has magic. If Val isn't picked, she'll drop one level of Affection.
Once back from the Dungeon, Val will ask what magic the Protagonist got. When she finds out s/he didn't get any, she asks Julia to wait, who agrees.
Val brings the Protagonist with her to Ms. Rack's room and gives him/her magic in secret. Once done, they head out and speak to Julia again, who is surprised to see that both of their gifts has changed. She requests to speak with the Protagonist in private in the library later.

- She has red hair, pink jacket, a blue sleeve glove and a green unitard. She speaks nervously as she's worried about what you will do to her.

Bimbo
- Her hair goes blonde and she gets larger breasts. She's very eager to please.

Trivia
- Val starts with 85 HP and 120 Stamina.
- Her real magic is to change reality, but she seemingly gives this power to the Protagonist and claims she only has the ability to use some elemental magic.
- Due to how the original timeline's version of their awakening played out, it is theorized that the Protagonist gained the Gift of Control only because Val's magic made it happen. This is because the second time the Protagonist touches the sigil, Val's hand is covering his/hers, and there is a reaction, meaning Val's interference changed something.
- It's presumed that's the reason that the Demoman monster spawns on the first floor - Val simply created it to give the Protagonist a chance to try out his/her magic.

- As of version 0.42, she no longer explains how to save the game. Instead, ??? does.
- Failing to enslave Val in the hallway unlocks a new enemy in her Mind.
- She's Ms. Rack's niece, though it's unknown if it's on her father or mother's side.
- Her favorite color is purple.
- She's allergic to roses, something she was unaware of as she had never really come in contact with them before. She finds out about this by dating the Protagonist.
- She's the first character to fall under Drape's control. While under his control, she wears identical clothes to his but claims it was of her own free will. If you find the floor seven secret note while she's like this, she'll say that Drape's class is her favorite one, though this is most likely due to her changed personality.
- She's in the same class as Julia, Molly, Cassandra, Sarah and the Protagonist.
- She's one of the initial three people you can choose to join your party at the start of a NG+. Depending on what ending you get, it differs who you can choose. However, she will always join you.
- It's unknown who she'll join if not chosen by the Protagonist during a NG+ (read: creator has not decided who she teams up with yet). Regardless, she waits for the Protagonist to come back from the Dungeon as she finishes earlier than him/her. This also causes her to drop one level of Affection.

- She's the first character added to the game to have a Willing Slave Route.
- Her last name is Guile, making her the first student in the game with a confirmed first and last name.
- You can by transforming into Val during the Heroic route and entering Mr. Drape's room. He'll refer to you as "Ms. Guile" at that point.
- She's one of multiple slaves to only have two different slave outfits. Hers only change colors in Goth personality.
