Sarah

From Adventure High Wiki

"I am a pretty big deal. And don't worry about me ditching you, I'm pretty loyal to friends who actually appreciate my power!"

Sarah the Destructive Mage

Sarah is a playable character in Adventure High. She is a blue-loving mage who cares little for other kinds of magic and prefers to simply burn stuff to the ground.

She has the lowest possible starting Affection towards the Protagonist, but is easy to increase to 1 heart.

She first encounters the Protagonist in Drape's classroom, where she asks to join the Protagonist's party. Saying that you're curious how you know she isn't lying increases her Affection, while saying that it seems to be a big deal decreases it.

She reveals she was originally in a party with Cassandra, but remarks that "[Cassandra] was lucky [Sarah] stuck along as [Sarah] did". As they're former best friends, it's highly likely they made a party together due to Sarah having heavy hitting spells and Cassandra could cast Debilibating magic to weaken them for Sarah.

If you allow Cassandra to take a gender change potion by doing their Dungeon Chatter scenes and having enslaved Cassandra, it results in Cassandra changing her gender and ask Sarah out in the past, but Cassandra does not remember this. However, due to her obsession and/or lust towards Sarah, Cassandra came off as a creepy ex towards her. As a result of this, Cassandra began tormenting Sarah for a full year to get over her crush of her. As a result of it, Sarah remembers them dating, but Cassandra does not.

If you go to Drape's class before Dr. Tiff's class, you have to attend that one for her to show up in the hallway. If you already attended Dr. Tiff's class, she'll be in the hallway once you're done with Drape's class. Saying you know a healing spell and then using Boost on her both affects her Affection. Using Suppress on her causes her to become your slave and reduce Affection. You can also use the Charm spell on her, causing her to fall in love with you and she won't mind if you have other girlfriends, too. Finally, you can use Grapple on her, which increases Affection and makes her your slave.

Ignoring her causes her to run after you in the street, but she'll be pissed at you. You can also use Suppress to make her your slave at this point as well.

She has as of version 0.51 fourteen spells, of which one is hidden and two are psuedo-hidden (meaning you have to unlock them, then obtain them through training) and two are mutually exclusive (you can only have either one, but not both as one of them replaces the other one).

Sarah relies heavily on Destructive magic - especially Fire magic. She has a few other spells, but her low starting HP implies she joined the Protagonist's party as she was hoping for someone with a Healing spell to go with her in case she was unable to kill an enemy in one shot.

Enslaving Sarah

The first chance you have to enslave Sarah is in the hallway when she goes to you for help. Flatout using Suppression on her or using Grapple for a scene causes her to be enslaved.

The second chance is if you piss her off in the streets. If you have Val as a slave, she'll help you enslave Sarah if you so desire. Otherwise, Val will prevent it.

The next option you have of enslaving her is in her mind after completing her Mind Dungeon. Use Suppression on her to count as your slave.

You can also enslave her by doing the Doll Sarah route. When you're transforming her back to normal, you can simply cast Boost followed by Suppression on her. This causes her to end up in her Doll Sarah form. Note that by doing this, her personality changes to Eager to Please, although her looks won't change anymore.

An alternate option is also by giving her the Mysterious Book to read. If she has enough Affection towards the Protagonist, she'll read the book and become the Protagonist's slave. If she already was, the Protagonist remarks that being the case.

As of version 0.51, if you visit the lake you can talk to her for a new scene where she'll show you how she used to practice her spells in the lake; you can cast suppression at any time during the conversation to enslave her. (Note: The prerequisites for this scene to play out seem to be that she's not enslaved already and having finished both the date and Sarah's past plot line, but it's currently unconfirmed).

Note: If you want to enslave Sarah, it is recommended that you do so after visiting her childhood home (or at least until enslaving her will not lock you out of getting the scenes you need to be able to visit it). If you don't visit her home, Sarah stays as a purely fire-based mage, making her useless past the 14th level of the dungeon. A simple way to do this is by doing the Doll Sarah Route, but not fixing her right away; instead go and level up 5 times before fixing her. When you do, let her mention how she needs to check on her housing before casting suppression.

Dating Sarah

With 50 or more affection, it's possible to date her, making her one of the first datable characters added in the game.

To do so, you must play as Dan - or charm her as Rosa - and have no other girlfriend prior. Once she has 50 Affection, you can speak to her in the street and agree to go out with her.

A few ways to increase her Affection is:

  • When you first meet her, ask how you know she's telling the truth. She should now be at angry waves (don't care).
  • In the hallway, say you have a healing spell, then use Boost on her. She should now be at one heart (crush).
  • When you run into her in the street after Sarah has gotten to level 4, tell her you don't mind being broke. She's now either at three hearts, or very close to it.
  • Once you obtain the Stone Skin spell, wait until she says "Like plastic, for example?" and use it on her. She will now be at 3 heart Affection if you did the steps above.

If you're still somehow short the 50 Affection needed, simply give her a Love Potion or two.

Sarah's past

In the past, Sarah didn't live in the city. However, she was forced to move there when a monster killed her parents, leaving her an orphan. Beliving her parents to have abandoned her, she resents them until proven otherwise during a date with the Protagonist. In order to complete this scene, you must find out about Sarah's past. This happens at three different points.

Either by saving her mind during the Heroic Route, leaving her as a Doll (read below as to how) and gaining five levels or making her talk about her past while going on a date with her.

She must also be level eleven or higher for this scene to trigger and you must have reached floor ten of the Dungeon but no further than floor fifteen (meaning fourteen is the last possible floor).

While she's a former best friend of Cassandra's, Cassandra fell in love with Sarah (something Sarah was originally not aware of). Due to Sarah being straight, Cassandra bullies Sarah in hope of not feeling anything for Sarah anymore.

In an alternate timeline, in which Cassandra and Sarah began going out, they broke up after that Sarah found Cassandra starting to get creepy. It's implied Cassandra in that timeline had changed her gender to become a guy in order to date Sarah.

Sarah the Drop Out

If you start Sarah's home route, but decide against tagging with her, one of four routes will play out:

  • If Cassandra is in your team, she will convince Sarah not to drop out.
  • If Cassandra is NOT in your team, Sarah will drop out. If Sarah is your slave at this point, the Protagonist will tell her that it's not [Sarah's] choice, meaning she will not drop out.
  • If Sarah dropped out, she will rejoin you after she saves you from Drape on the Heroic Route as the Protagonist will convince her that despite nearly threatening the Protagonist's life once, she saved him/her, so it's even.
  • If you already dealt with Drape and she got you out, the Protagonist will thank her for saving him/her from Drape, showing that she's courageous.

Sarah the Doll

After obtaining the Stone Skin spell and having 25 or more Affection towards her, talk to Sarah in the street without her being your slave. Say you're not busy and follow the conversation until she says "Like plastic, for example?".

Use Stone Skin on her at this point - or any point after that - and she'll remark her skin is like plastic. This also causes her to get a great boost in Affection.

Next time you meet her (which requires you to attend the first of Jane's Private Classes), agree to turn her into a Doll again but don't change her back. She'll now stand in your room until you decide to fix her and change her back to normal.

While you change her back to normal, it's possible to enslave her.

Having her as a doll makes you able to start the Funtime Sarah plotline, in which she'll willingly become your Doll and remarks that she loves being played with.

Whether you enslave her or return her to normal, she will always be in her normal blue outfit during normal conversation, even if you change her personality, though she she will behave as normal in those personalities (cocky in tough, doing anything she can to please the Protagonist in Eager to Please and so on). This is due to her not having the artwork for alternate Doll clothes yet - for example, regardless of form, she will always be in her Normal clothes in her Doll form during the library scene.

As of version 0.49, if Sarah is a doll and the Protagonist's slave, while she's in Normal personality, it became possible to make Sarah a doll once more. To do so, simply talk to her, choose that you're gonna play with her, then turn her into a doll again.

Slave outfits

Normal

  • She's wearing a blue and white dress, white stockings and a blue hat. In this personality, she swears once in a while, though it's somewhat rare. Whether her staff is for increasing her magic strength or solely for show is unknown.
    • You can change her into a Doll while she's in this form as long as you already unlocked that once before assuming she's your slave.
      • As a doll, she's placed in the Protagonist's bedroom.

Mindless

  • She only says a few words and her eyes are blank, wearing the same outfit.

Eager to Please

  • Her outfit and hair turns red and she'll do everything she can to make the Protagonist happy. The orb on her staff turns pink as well as her eyes. Her pupils turns heart shaped.

Tough

  • Her outfit turns black and purple. Her hair and the orb on her staff both turn purple. She'll refer to you as 'Boss' and do whatever you say.

Needy

  • This outfit is only possible to obtain by using Confuse on her while saving her Mind.
    • Similar to Eager to Please, her outfit and hair turns red. She's very clingy towards the Protagonist.

Enchantment Levels

Enchanting Sarah's clothes gives the following stats:

Level 1

Attack

+15 Power and a small boost in Affection.

Defense

+50 HP, +5 Defense and a small drop in Affection.

Endurance

+2 Speed, +20 Stamina

Trivia

  • She's the first character in the game to get an affection boost or drop from enchanting her clothes.
    • Specifically, giving her a Power boost increases it, but giving her a Defense boost decreases it.
  • She seems to be interested in dolls, to the point she asks the Protagonist to transform her into one. This is possibly because, in the past, she had a doll that she assumed was stolen.
  • She was the first character to get all eight spells in the same tree. In her case, Destructive.
  • If you're dating her and turn her into a doll and say you made her a realistic doll in case you wanted to play with her, she seems turned on by the idea, but quickly dismisses it, saying they barely started going out.
    • She's the first character in the game you were able to date.
      • If you're not dating her and choose the same option, the Protagonist will remark how she's actually attracted to the thought of her being the Protagonist's doll.
  • She's the first student - and first character - to have an inanimate version of herself. In her case, it's the Doll Sarah. This was followed by Ms. Rack in version 0.38.
  • She was originally in a party with Cassandra (as revealed in Drape's First Class) but due to arguing with each other, Sarah joined the Protagonist's party instead.
  • Her favorite color is blue, claiming it's the only fire hot enough for her. The Protagonist calls her out on it, saying that white fire is hotter, causing Sarah to admit it.
  • According to Cassandra, she had dyed her hair some time ago, before she changed it back to blue around last year.
    • According to the creator, she dyed her hair red due to Cassandra's influence.
  • She's in the same class as the Protagonist, Val, Molly, Victoria, Julia and Cassandra.
    • If you attempt to recruit her during a NG+, she reveals that she's friends with Cassandra and plans to going into a party with her. However, they have a falling out shortly after, thus joining the Protagonist's group.
      • Sarah and Cassandra will always group on the first day. Due to this, she's one of two characters that is confirmed to be unable to join the party by default.
  • If you decide to enslave her in the hallway by using Grapple, this will increase her affection rather than decrease it as she loves assertive men. This could imply that she's secretly submissive, or she just doesn't want to date a pushover.
  • She seems to have a keener sense of smell compared to everyone else, as she remarks that Derrick's hair gel smells terrible. The Protagaonist can't smell it at all and Val remarks that the smell is fairly subtle.
  • Sarah is the easiest character to enslave, since there are more opportunities to do so than any other character.
  • Sarah only gives good testimony on the Faculty Control route if you have brought her to her home and also if you introduced her to her mother.
