A list of Spells in Adventure High.

The skill trees are:

In order to learn spells from new trees, you must find Secret Notes and have that person in your party for them to gain experience with that type of spell. For example, the Protagonist needs to find a Secret Note accessing Jane's class in order to learn Destructive magic, while Sarah knows that from the start.

However, there are a few scenes that gives a small amount of Proficiency outside of Secret Notes. However, those are quite rare as of version 0.62 and as such aren't a reliable way.

Pseudo-Hidden spells are spells that, while originally listed as 'Hidden', becomes 'unlocked' by completing certain criteria, but you still need to train in that specific tree in order to unlock that spell.

The Proficiency requirements - including how much you gain - are final as of version 0.62 (as in, the listed is what you get from using that spell and what you require to unlock new spells in that version). Should any of the information be incorrect, please correct it.

Spells comes in three categories:

Hidden Spells

Hidden spells are unlocked by completing certain criteria. There's currently five: One for the Protagonist, one for Val, one for Ashley, one for Julia and one for Sarah.

Protagonist

  • Possession - Unlocked by going with Sarah to her house after she mentions her past and then using Suppression on Sarah's mom after the unwinnable boss.

Valerie

  • Erase - Unlocked by having Val confessing her true powers and having 10,000 Proficiency.
    • This is done either by seeing her transform Ms. Rack into a bimbo or completing the Faculty Control Ending and getting a NG+.

Sarah

  • Bubble - Unlocked by going with Sarah to her house after she mentions her past.
    • This also unlocks her Pseudo-hidden spells Fissure and Glacier, while also replacing two of her old spells.

Cassandra

Currently none

Molly

Currently none

Julia

  • Slime Shot - Unlocked by having Julia at level 8 or above, seeing a scene in the Forest, giving her 50 Slime and finally leveling her to level 10.
    • Note that the route is bugged if Julia is your slave and you lack enough Slime to provide it at once.
    • Julia must be in Normal personality during this route.

Ashley

  • Berserk - Despite starting with it, she unlocks it by going to floor 21 of the dungeon and seeing a scene as long as Julia is in the party.
    • There are variations for this scene if Ashley is brought and if she is in Normal or Berserker form.

Derrick

Currently none.

Alternate Spells

  • Passion Heal replaces Cauterize if Sarah is in love with you (either because you Charmed her or dated her successfully).
  • During the make out scene in the bedroom, choose to take the lead and this spell unlocks.
    • If you didn't unlock Cauterize by attending one of Dr. Tiff's classes, you'll automatically unlock Passion Heal, along with Sarah obtaining 10 support proficiency from the scene.

  • Stamina Cost: 2.
  • Element: Healing.

-

  • Lightning replaces Fire Strike if Sarah obtained her Bubble spell.

  • Element: Fire, Air.

-

  • Magma Fist replaces Fire Fist if you unlocked the Bubble spell on Sarah.

  • Element: Fire, Ground.

Alternate Magic Usage

Characters who doesn't learn spells from the four schools are listed here.

Reese

Reese only has two spells: Both are called "Copy" and is used to copy the next spell that the enemy is about to use. Reese, by default, has Bubble and Sting. To remove them, simply use them from the Menu.

Notes

  • You can unlock Passion Heal and skip Cauterize by simply charming Sarah into dating you or by having enough Affection at the end of the date. This grants her 10 Support Proficiency, more than plenty to gain the first Support spell.
  • Even if you lack Hidden spells for characters, you can obtain the spells after that one (so even if you lack the Bubble spell for Sarah, it's possible to obtain the Fire Strike spell).
  • AoE is a short for 'Area of Effect', meaning all enemies/allies gets affected by the spell.

Trivia

  • Sarah was the first character in the game to obtain the following things:
    • She was the first to obtain eight spells in one tree, namely Destructive.
    • She was the first character with Pseudo-Hidden spells.
    • She was the first character to have multiple AoE spells.
    • She was the first character to obtain an AoE Destructive spell.
  • Molly was the first character to obtain an AoE Support spell (Group Heal).
  • Val was the first character in general to obtain an AoE spell and to obtain a Debilitating AoE spell (Sauna).
  • Val could originally only unlock her Erase spell by transforming Ms. Rack into a bimbo.
    • As of version 0.51, it became possible to do so by completing the Faculty Control route and choosing to start a NG+.
  • The "Torment" spell was added as a suggestion from a fan, who wanted a spell that made it easier to complete Monster Capture without fear of killing the monsters.
  • "Suppression" was originally called "Corruption", in reference to how it corrupted another persons mind (and possibly the Protagonist's).
